"LOVE, TOM" FROM LEGENDARY SINGER-SONGWRITER TOM DOUGLAS, TO PREMIERE FEB. 24 EXCLUSIVELY ON PARAMOUNT+

Part Scripted, Part Confessional, the Award-Winning Country Singer-Songwriter Offers a Heartfelt Message of Hope in New Personal Performance Film

Jan. 27, 2022 - Paramount+, the streaming service from ViacomCBS, today announced that LOVE, TOM, the one-man personal performance film starring legendary, award-winning country singer-songwriter Tom Douglas, will premiere exclusively on the service Thursday, Feb. 24 and will also roll out in the Nordics, Australia, Latin America and Canada the same day.

Directed by Oscar-nominated and BAFTA-winning filmmaker Michael Lennox, and written by Tommy Douglas and Tom Douglas, the film is based on Douglas' much-lauded 12-minute acceptance speech given at the 2014 Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, offering a message of hope to a desperate world. Spanning a 30-year career, Douglas shares personal anecdotes as the backstory for his most famous songs. The Academy Award, Golden Globe and GRAMMY-nominated songwriter is known for writing hits for country's biggest names including Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, Lady A, Miranda Lambert, George Strait, Kenny Chesney and more. LOVE, TOM showcases performances of some of his most memorable songs, including "I Run To You" (Lady A), "Grown Men Don't Cry" (Tim McGraw) and "The House That Built Me" (Miranda Lambert).

"LOVE, TOM is a letter of hope to a desperate world. Yes - it's a film about songwriting and the creative process - but really, it's a film for anxiety addicts, underdogs, underachievers, true believers, never-say-die-ers, keep on try-ers, the broken hearted, can't-get-started, optimistic pessimists," shared Tom Douglas. "Austin, Michael, Tommy and I are deeply grateful to Paramount+, Jason Owen, Sandbox, and Sony Music Entertainment for going on this journey with us."

From executive producers Tom Douglas, Tommy Douglas, Austin Fish, Jason Owen and Michael Lennox, LOVE, TOM is produced in association with Sandbox Productions in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment's Premium Content Division.

In conjunction with LOVE, TOM the film, Douglas will be releasing a companion album, Inspired by the Motion Picture Love, Tom on Monument Records. The album features many of Douglas' beloved co-writers and friends, including Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Lady A, Chris Janson and Collin Raye. The 10-song project is out on Feb. 24, alongside the film. The first release off the album, "Van Gogh," arrives today. The song was written by Douglas with Allen Shamblin and produced by Andy Skib. Listen to "Van Gogh" HERE.

LOVE, TOM joins Paramount+'s growing slate of music specials, including the recently released MADAME X, Kacey Musgraves' STAR-CROSSED, THE MARFA TAPES, OASIS KNEBWORTH 1996, and the upcoming Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett documentary.
