Paul Giamatti Joins The Cast Of 30 COINS

Emmy(R) award winning actor Paul Giamatti ("Billions," HBO's "John Adams" and "American Splendor") has joined the cast of 30 COINS for Season 2, which is currently in production. Produced by Pokeepsie Films (Banijay Iberia) for HBO Max, 30 COINS is directed by Álex de la Iglesia and co-written by Álex de la Iglesia and Jorge Guerricaechevarría. The series will be available to stream on HBO Max worldwide in 2023 and will debut on HBO in the US.

Paul Giamatti plays Christian Barbrow, an American tech and business billionaire, science guru, writer of sci-fi novels, and head of a mysterious "Brotherhood" that counts amongst its members the world's elite. He is the ultimate disruptor, but nobody knows his true intentions.

In the second season of 30 Coins, most of the people of Pedraza have lost their minds, confined to a psychiatric hospital. Elena lies in a Madrid hospital bed in a coma; Paco, shattered by remorse, tries to take care of her. As horror grows around them, our group of heroes must face a new enemy. Someone so perverse that even the devil fears him. But what about Father Vergara? Has he died, along with his archenemy, Cardinal Santoro? Where do they hide, the tortured souls?

Speaking about the casting, Director Álex de la Iglesia said: "Paul Giamatti is probably one of the best actors in the American film industry. Paul Giamatti joins returning cast Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Megan Montaner, Eduard Fernández, as well as new cast member Najwa Nimri. The second season of 30 Coins is being filmed in Spain, Italy, the US, France, and the UK.
