REELZ DOCUMENTARY SERIES ON PATROL: LIVE LEADS TO RECOVERY OF MULTIPLE MISSING CHILDREN
National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) Reports Recovery of Five Children Since the Series and its Regular "Missing" Segments Debuted in July 2022
Black and Missing Foundation (BAMFI) also Featured Regularly in "Missing" Segments
Jersey City, New Jersey and Albuquerque, NM - (Dec. 9, 2022) - Kamaria Johnson, a now 18-year-old girl from Radcliff, KY, missing since May 2021 and whose story was featured on the premiere episode of REELZ documentary series On Patrol: Live (on July 22, 2022), was successfully reunited with her mother last Friday. The teen was found in Memphis, TN. Kylee Chandler, a 13-year-old who went missing from Lexington County, SC, in September, was also reunited with her loved ones last Thursday. Her "Missing" segment aired in the November 19 episode of the show.
Kamaria and Kylee are two of five minors recovered and reunited with loved ones since On Patrol: Live premiered last summer. Each week, the series, produced by Half Moon Pictures, features "Missing" segments that air in conjunction with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the Black and Missing Foundation (BAMFI).
During these segments, series hosts Dan Abrams, Sean "Sticks" Larkin and Curtis Wilson call on the viewing public and OPL's broad social media footprint, known as #OPNation, to reach out to NCMEC's and BAMFI's special hotlines, should they have any information related to the missing persons. The segments are also shared via the show's platforms on Twitter (@OfficialOPLive), Instagram (@officialoplive) and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/ReelzOfficialOPLive/).
In addition to Kamaria and Kylee, On Patrol: Live has seen 6-year-old Jorge Morales from Miami, FL, and 14-year-old Devon Hester from Philadelphia, PA, recovered safely after their stories were featured on the show (the identity of the fifth child is not being disclosed at this time).
"It's unprecedented to have two missing children whose cases were featured on the show recovered in the same week," said Angeline Hartmann, director of Communications at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. "Whether from a viewer tip or through media exposure that's generated as a result of the show, we know that OPL is a catalyst to bringing home our missing kids and a big part of the work we do at NCMEC. We're so grateful to OPL and their dedicated viewers."
Said Natalie Wilson and Derrica Wilson, founders of the Black and Missing Foundation, "The OPL segments have provided additional, much needed awareness and exposure of our cases, which is vital in helping us solve them and reuniting missing individuals with their families."
On Patrol: Live Executive Producer John Zito added, "These 'Missing' segments are so important to all of us who work on OPL and we are proud to be able to provide a platform that harnesses the energy of OP Nation in a way that can help reunite missing persons with their loved ones."
On Patrol: Live follows live news-gathering protocols as its cameras document for viewers in real time the everyday work of police officers on patrol. Host and Executive Producer Dan Abrams, alongside Sgt. Sean "Sticks" Larkin (ret.) and Deputy Sheriff Curtis Wilson, provide minute-by-minute live analysis and context, offering unique insight into the experiences of the men and women of law enforcement appearing on the show.
On Patrol: Live airs Friday and Saturday Nights from 9pm to 12am ET/PT on REELZ. On Patrol: Live is produced by Half Moon Pictures for REELZ. Executive Producers are Dan Cesareo, John Zito, Lucilla D'Agostino, Paul Gordon, Joe Venafro and Dan Abrams.
