CROSS (Amazon) - Siobhan Murphy will recur on the Aldis Hodge-led drama series as Tania Hightower, "a driven, unstoppable journalist who works as a news reporter for the Post. Hightower's beat includes all of Washington D.C., but her passion, loyalty and interest lies less in the political class and more in the often overlooked population of our nation's capital." (Deadline.com)
DEEP, THE (Amazon, New!) - C. Henry Chaisson is developing a small screen take on Nick Cutter's underwater thriller at the streamer: "Set in the near future, The Deep centers on a research station at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, where a miraculous discovery signals a new hope for humanity - but secrets unearthed on the ocean floor might hold devastating consequences for the world above." Carlton Cuse, Henrik Bastin and Melissa Aouate will also executive produce for Genre Arts, Fabel Entertainment and Amazon Studios. (Deadline.com)
KILLING KIND, THE (Paramount+, New!) - Eleventh Hour Films and Sony Pictures Television have landed a six-part adaptation of Jane Casey's bestseller at the streamer: "The book follows Ingrid, a successful barrister who defends a man accused of coercive control and sees he world implode before the man returns to claim that someone is trying to kill her and only he can protect her." Writer/director Zara Hayes, Jonathan AH Stewart and Casey are among the auspices. (Deadline.com)
NCIS: HAWAI'I (CBS) - Jake Weber will drop by the show's 14th episode as Jim Carter, "a former NCIS agent who is now head of security at a university. SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE (NBC) - Cecily Strong has confirmed her exit from the series after 11 seasons. (@nbcsnl, 12/17)
SINGLE DRUNK FEMALE (Freeform) - Molly Ringwald will reunite with fellow "The Breakfast Club" alum Ally Sheedy in an upcoming episode as Alice, "Carol's wry, witty, "perfect" sister-in-law and Sam's favorite aunt. TRUTH BE TOLD (Apple TV+) - Octavia Spencer's Orit Entertainment has signed a first-look deal for scripted TV projects with Skydance Television. The company was previously set up at ABC Signature. (THR.com)
