ALASKA DAILY (ABC) - The Alphabet has pushed the show's return back by one week to March 2, allowing its five remaining installments to air consecutively. In its place on February 23, look for a rebroadcast of the pilot for "The Company You Keep," which also airs on February 19 and 20.
COMPANY YOU KEEP, THE (ABC) - Sachin Bhatt will recur on the newcomer as Vikram Singh, "an FBI agent who is considered one of the good ones. He is described as charming, witty, and handsome." (Deadline.com)
CRIMINAL (Amazon, New!) - Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips's comic book series, described as "an interlocking universe of crime stories," is being developed for television at Amazon Studios. Brubaker himself is penning the hour with a writers' room already underway. Nick Pepper and Matt King are expected to also receive executive producing credits. (Deadline.com)
GUARDS (FOX, New!) - Comedian Nore Davis is set to star in a single-camera comedy at the network "that follows the exploits of a group of eclectic security guards as they protect an affluent gated community. Davis plays newly hired guard Lance Lemont, an enthusiastic but reserved rule follower who has a strong desire to protect others, even if it's just with a flashlight. Though he works his colleagues' nerves, they're bonded by their contempt for the needy, entitled residents, and a less-than-stellar boss." Davis and Crystal Jenkins penned the project and will executive produce alongside 3 Arts Entertainment's Zack Waxenberg and Luke Maxwell, presumably for FOX Entertainment. (Deadline.com)
KINGDOM BUSINESS (BET+) - The streamer has renewed the series for a second season, production of which is underway in Atlanta. Loretta Devine and Louis Gossett, Jr. will recur on said run as Denita Jordan's parents, Darlene and Jeremiah. (Deadline.com)
LAZARUS (Apple TV+, New!) - Tom Hardy and Zazie Beetz are on track to star in a new drama series at the streamer based on the Joona Linna book series by Lars Kepler (pseudonym for Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril): "In the series, an emaciated young man is found wandering along a train track. Thirteen years earlier, he and his sister went missing, presumed victims of the notorious serial killer Jurek Walter. To find the sister, police detective Saga Bauer must go undercover in the maximum-security psychiatric hospital where Jurek Walter has been kept since his arrest years ago." Hardy will play Jurek Walter with Beetz as Inspector Saga Bauer. Øystein Karlsen is set to write, direct and executive produce alongside Hardy, Beetz, Kepler, Dean Baker, David Rysdahl, Niclas Salomonsson, Barry Jossen, Tana Jamieson, Heather Kadin, Peter Micelli and Jack Whigham for A+E Studios, Range Studios and Hardy Son & Baker. (Deadline.com)
LOPEZ VS. LOPEZ (NBC) - Harvey Guillén, Chelsea Rendon and Jessica Marie Garcia are slated to recur on the freshman comedy series. Guillén will portray Miguel, "Mayan's (Mayan Lopez) pseudo-intellectual cousin who spends his time getting his doctorate in Chicano studies and bragging about the TED talk he gave on the cultural significance of the Hot Cheeto." Rendon is Luna, "Mayan's free-spirited cousin who travels the world in a camper and loves #vanlife, even if her only roommate is her porta-potty." And Garcia is Yesika, "Mayan's fabulous Tik Tok-dancing social media influencer cousin who does everything for “the Gram” including giving Mayan a taste of the glamorous life." (Deadline.com)
NEVER LET ME GO (FX on Hulu) - FX's TV series adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro's 2005 novel has been shuttered prior to the start of production. No specific reason was given for the decision. Aiysha Hart, Edward Holcroft, Gary Beadle, Keira Chanse, Kelly Macdonald, Kwami Odoom, Shaniqua Okwok, Spike Fearn, Susan Brown, Tracey Ullman and Viola Prettejohn were set to star in the project with Alex Garland, Allon Reich, Andrew MacDonald, Marc Munden, Maria Fleischer and Melissa Iqbal among the auspices. (Variety.com)
UNTITLED PATRICIA HEATON PROJECT (FOX) - Carol Leifer and Andy Gordon have been tapped to pen the multi-camera comedy, which received a script-to-series commitment in 2021.
