BOBBY MERITORIOUS (Paramount+, New!) - Robert De Niro is attached to star in a proposed drama at the streamer "set amid the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, which is a sovereign kingdom with seemingly unlimited power and scope. But now an informant in SDNY's biggest case, Avery "The Sage" Accomando, played by De Niro, is poised to tear this storied institution apart. Only one man can stop him, a fabled ex-cop-turned prosecutor affectionately known as Bobby Meritorious. The battle between these two giants is a fight for justice itself." Billy Ray is penning the project for Paramount Television Studios and Tribeca Productions with both executive producing alongside, Jane Rosenthal, Berry Welsh, Peter Gethers and Preet Bharara, author of the book "Doing Justice: A Prosecutor's Thoughts on Crime, Punishment, and the Rule of Law." The project is described as a "a subversive, genre-bending, sci-fi comedy about desperately trying to escape, and ultimately having to embrace our flaws, told through the prism of a Latinx family en route to a new, faraway moon." Patrick Moran, John Leguizamo, Isa Dick Hakcett and Bradley Kaplan are the executive producers. No writer was specified. (Variety.com)
CRUEL INTENTIONS (Freevee) - The streamer has given an eight-episode order to its long-in-the-works TV adaptation of the 1999 film: "Set in Washington, D.C., the series follows two ruthless step-siblings who will do anything to stay at the top of the Greek Life hierarchy at their elite college. When a brutal hazing incident threatens the entire Panhellenic system, they'll do whatever is necessary to preserve their power and reputations... including seducing the daughter of the U.S. vice president." Phoebe Fisher and Sara Goodman had been tapped to pen the pilot for the then IMDb TV (and Amazon may be the ultimate home) with Neal H. Moritz also among the executive producers. Production begins later this month in Toronto. (TVine.com)
HOTEL COCAINE (MGM+) - Mark Feuerstein will round out the cast of the upcoming drama as Burton Greenberg, "the owner of the Mutiny Hotel, the "Studio 54" of Miami. He's a fun-loving hedonist whose spiritual journey will lead him into the heart of Miami's drug wars." (Deadline.com)
