CHOSEN, THE (Angel App) - The show's fourth season will first be released exclusively in theaters, distributed by Fathom Events. Look for episodes 1-3 beginning February 1, followed by episodes 4-6 on February 15 and episodes 7-8 on February 29, all in advance of their streaming and linear premieres. (TVLine.com, 10/16)
DAILY SHOW, THE (Comedy Central) - Hasan Minhaj is reportedly no longer in the running to take over as host, despite previously being reported as the frontrunner. (Puck.news, 10/20)
GARGOYLES (Disney+, New!) - Gary Dauberman is spearheading a live-action TV series based on the famed animated series, in which "statues awaken from a thousand-year-old spell and take on the mantle of protecting the city." No other specifics were given. Atomic Monster's James Wan and Michael Clear will also executive produce. (THR.com, 10/16)
HEAD, THE (Max) - Filming is set to begin in November on the show's third season with John Lynch, Katharine O'Donnelly and Olivia Morris all slated to reprise their roles. The new season will "take place in an unknown place in the Sahara desert, in an unusual place that most people never heard of." (Variety.com, 10/17)
LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME (NBC) - John Shiban has been named executive producer and showrunner of the series' upcoming fourth season. (Deadline.com, 10/19)
PROBLEM WITH JON STEWART, THE (Apple TV+) - The streamer has canceled the series after two seasons, a decision billed as "the result of creative differences between the tech giant and the former 'Daily Show' host." Taping for the third season has been scheduled to begin in the next couple of weeks. (NYTimes.com, 10/19)
PSYCH (USA Network) - It's understood "discussions are continuing" for a fourth movie adventure based on the series. (TVLine.com, 10/18)
WINTER PALACE (Netflix) - The eight-episode period drama has cast Cyril Metzger as André Morel; Manon Clavel as Rose, "an ambitious married couple who are running the hotel at the centre of the show"; Simon Ludders as "ambitious aristocrat Lord Fairfax, whose dream is to turn the hotel in a winter holiday destination"; Astrid Roos as Lady Isobel; Henry Pettigrew as Sir Conan Doyle; Clive Standen as Lance Raney; Vincent Heneine as Chef Voclain; Axel Granberger as Marcus; and Alix Henzelin, Antoine Basler, Gaspard Boesch, Roland Vouilloz, Serge Musy and Karim Barras in unspecified roles.
