THE HISTORY(R) CHANNEL PARTNERS WITH NATIONAL BASEBALL HALL OF FAMER DEREK JETER TO EXECUTIVE PRODUCE TWO NEW NONFICTION SERIES "HISTORY'S GREATEST WARRIORS" AND "THE ICONS THAT BUILT AMERICA"

JETER'S CAP 2 PRODUCTIONS JOINS PRODUCTION ALONGSIDE CITIZEN JONES AND BLACKFIN

New York, NY - March 6, 2024 - The HISTORY(R) Channel partners with National Baseball Hall of Famer Derek Jeter to executive produce two new nonfiction series "History's Greatest Warriors" from his production company CAP 2 Productions and Citizen Jones and "The Icons That Built America" from CAP 2 Productions and Blackfin, a division of Lionsgate's Alternative Television group. "History's Greatest Warriors" reveals the step-by-step process involved in establishing the renowned warriors who altered history, while "The Icons That Built America" highlights the talented, often provocative entertainers whose brilliance and rise to stardom transformed American popular culture.

"Over the course of American history there are so many individuals that have helped to shape culture," said Jeter. "I am honored to collaborate with The HISTORY Channel to celebrate the stories of extraordinary individuals from all walks of life and how their indominable spirits and timeless legacies changed the course of history as we know it."

"Derek's deep understanding of the dedication and perseverance required to succeed at the highest level makes him the perfect partner to help bring these historical narratives about elite warriors and remarkable innovators to the small screen," said Eli Lehrer, Executive Vice President and Head of Programming for The HISTORY(R) Channel.

"History's Greatest Warriors" explores the step-by-step process to produce some of history's most infamous and lethal warriors. Each episode introduces viewers to a legendary fighter - from Samurai, Spartans, Delta Force, Navy SEALS, Vikings, and more - and breaks down the selection, training, weaponry, and combat expertise specifically used. Across eight episodes, the series utilizes expert insights and compelling graphics to exemplify the unique skills, determination, and tactical brilliance these troops forged to become the legendary and formidable warriors as we know them today.

"The Icons That Built America" celebrates the innovators, trailblazers, and risk-takers who pushed boundaries and redefined what it means to be a performer. Over seven episodes, the series explores the lives and careers of such individuals as daredevil Evel Knievel, martial artist and actor Bruce Lee, comedian Richard Pryor, radio host Howard Stern, hip-hop group N.W.A, and more and how their visionary ideas propelled them to become pillars in American culture. Through secondhand accounts and archival footage, the series aims to provide a more intimate portrait of these influential individuals and the surprising challenges faced when striving for success in their respective industry.

"History's Greatest Warriors" is produced for The HISTORY(R) Channel by CAP 2 Productions and Citizen Jones. Derek Jeter serves as executive producer for CAP 2 Productions. Jonas Bell Pasht, Jonah Bekhor and Scott Hartford serve as executive producers for Citizen Jones. Eli Lehrer, Mary E. Donahue, and Max Micallef serve as executive producers for The HISTORY(R) Channel.
