BLADE RUNNER 2099 (Amazon) - Tom Burke and Maurizio Lombardi will both recur on the limited series following up the 2017 movie sequel. No character details were given. (Deadline.com, 8/28)
BORDERLINE (Roku, New!) - The streamer has acquired the six-episode series starring Amy Bhrún and Eoin Macken from Lionsgate Television, due on September 1: "Forced to collaborate on a serious crime, contrasting detectives Philip Boyd and Aoife Regan, with clashing personalities and backgrounds, overcome initial friction to form an unlikely but formidable crime-fighting partnership." Lochlann O'Mearáin also stars in the project, from writer John Forte, director Robert Quinn, and executive producers Steve November and Mary Callery. ShinAwiL, Further South Productions and Screen Ireland also produce. (Variety.com, 8/26)
CUPERTINO (CBS, New!) - Robert King and Michelle King have sold a new drama to the Eye, "described as David vs. Goliath legal show set in Silicon Valley." The duo will executive produce alongside Liz Glotzer for their CBS Studios-based King Size Productions. (Deadline.com, 8/26)
DEAD BOY DETECTIVES (Netflix) - The Max-turned-Netflix series has been canceled after one season. (Variety.com, 8/30)
DEVIL IN DISGUISE: JOHN WAYNE GACY (Peacock) - The Michael Chernus-led limited series has cast Gabriel Luna as Detective Rafael Tovar; James Badge Dale as Chief of Detectives Joe Kozenczak; Michael Angarano as Sam Amirante; Chris Sullivan as Lead Prosecutor Bill Kunkle; and Marin Ireland as Elizabeth Piest. DOWN CEMETERY ROAD (Apple TV+) - The streamer's Mick Herron adaptation has cast Adeel Akhtar as Hamza; with Nathan Stewart-Jarrett as Downey; Tom Goodman-Hill as Gerard; Darren Boyd as C.; Tom Riley as Mark; Adam Godley as Joe Silverman; Sinead Matthews as Denise (aka Wigwam); Ken Nwosu as Rufus; Fehinti Balogun as Amos; and Aiysha Hart as Paula. Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson lead the ensemble as previously announced. (Deadline.com, 8/28)
FIELD OF DREAMS (Peacock) - The streamer's defunct TV series based on the 1989 film was reportedly set to star Chris Pratt in the Kevin Costner role until the actor "abruptly dropped out" of the project. Peacock wasn't confident enough in his replacement as Ray Kinsella, Bill Heck, to "move forward with a project that would reportedly cost $15 million per episode." Other actors said to be attached include Andre Braugher (as Terence Mann), Kristen Bell, Nick Offerman and William Jackson Harper (as Jackie Robinson). (TVLine.com, 8/24)
GREY'S ANATOMY (ABC) - Natalie Morales's Monica Beltran will return for at least six episodes this season, beginning with its second installment. (Variety.com, 8/30)
HOLLYWOOD SQUARES (CBS) - Executive producer Vincent Rubino has been fired from the revival series "for allegedly making a racially insensitive comment to BIPOC members of the production staff." (Deadline.com, 8/29)
INSTITUTE, THE (MGM+) - The Mary-Louise Parker/Ben Barnes-led drama has added Simone Miller as Kalisha, "a sarcastic-but-friendly Institute inmate, who becomes one of Luke's closest allies"; and Jason Diaz as Tony, "the most sadistic of the Institute's orderlies, who delights in wielding his power over the children." (Deadline.com, 8/28)
KNOCK-OFF (Disney+, New!) - Kim Soo-hyun and Jo Bo-ah will topline a new Korean crime series at the streamer due in 2025: "The show dives into the murky world of counterfeit goods, following a man whose life is ruined in the wake of the 1997 Asian financial crisis. Desperate to rebuild what he once had, the man finds himself drawn into the knock-off goods trade, quickly climbing up to the top of the counterfeit market scene. That sets him on a collision course with his ex-girlfriend who is now a special police office tasked with cracking down on the fake goods trade." No other auspices were given. (Variety.com, 8/26)
LAW & ORDER (NBC) - Ryan Eggold will guest on an upcoming episode of the series as Matt Riley, "the brother of Det. Vince Riley, played by series regular Reid Scott." Additionally, "Law & Order: SVU's" Mariska Hargitay and Elizabeth Marvel will both drop by a separate installment in a yet-to-be-revealed storyline. (Deadline.com, 8/26)
LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME (Peacock) - Dean Norris, who recurred as Randall Stabler last season, has been promoted to regular for the upcoming season. (Deadline.com, 8/29)
MADE IN KOREA (Disney+, New!) - Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung are set to star in a new Korean series at the streamer: "Set in the turbulent 1970s, crime thriller Made in Korea follows Kitae, a man consumed with a desire for wealth and power, and Geonyoung, a stalwart prosecutor that stands in his way. Constantly at loggerheads, the pair find themselves involved in an era-defining incident that will forever change their futures." Woo Min-ho is directing from scripts by Park Eunkyo and Park Joonseok for Hive Media Corp. (Deadline.com, 8/29)
MADISON, THE (Paramount Network) - Matthew Fox has joined the latest "Yellowstone" spin-off as Paul, "a self-reliant bachelor who loves the outdoors." (Deadline.com, 8/26)
MATLOCK (CBS) - Piper Curda will recur on the newcomer as Kira, "the IT (Information Technology) girl at Jacobson Moore who is called upon to help with a fried computer and ends up becoming a love interest for Sarah (Leah Lewis)." (Deadline.com, 8/27)
ONE TREE HILL SEQUEL SERIES (Netflix, New!) - Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton will reprise their roles of Brooke Davis and Peyton Sawyer, respectively, in a proposed "One Tree Hill" follow-up series at the streamer: "The sequel is said to take place 20 years later following best friends Brooke and Peyton who are now parents to teens and facing challenges not unfamiliar to what they tackled in the original series like love, insecurities and grief." Becky Hartman Edwards is spearheading the project with Bush, Burton, Jensen Ackles and fellow alum Danneel Ackles also executive producing for Chaos Machine and Warner Bros. Television. Emily Moss Wilson is a producer. (Deadline.com, 8/30)
OUT OF THE DUST (Netflix, New!) - Asa Butterfield, Molly Windsor, Fra Fee, Siobhan Finneran and Christopher Eccleston will topline a new six-part series at the streamer from Julie Gearey: "A psychological thriller set in a conservative Christian sect, "Out of the Dust" follows the story of Rosie (Windsor), a dutiful wife and mother who is set on a dangerous path of emancipation and sexual awakening when she has an encounter with Sam (Fee), an escaped convict." Butterfield plays Adam with Finneran as Mrs Phillips and Eccleston as Mr Phillps. Jim Loach and Philippa Langdale are directing for Double Dutch Productions with Iona Vrolyk and Myar Craig-Brown executive producing alongside Gearey. Nick Pitt produces. (Variety.com, 8/27)
PITT, THE (Max) - Sherri Crichton, widow of Michael Crichton, has filed a lawsuit in California State Superior Court alleging "that after walking away from a year-long negotiation to make a new version of the billion dollar hit series ER, WBTV, [John] Wells, [Noah] Wyle and [R. Scott] Gemmill transplanted the concept to a hospital in urban Pittsburgh and called it The Pitt." (Deadline.com, 8/27)
RIPPLE (Hallmark+, New!) - The new streaming service has given a straight-to-series order to the new one-hour drama: "From Lionsgate TV, Ripple explores how unexpectedly connected we are as human beings. Set in New York City, Nate, Kris, Walter and Aria have crossed paths hundreds of times, yet they've never met. Because of the seemingly minuscule decisions these core four make in the pilot, we'll witness the ripple effect of how these strangers, all dealing with life's challenges in their own way, are led to one another." Michele Giannusa is behind the project with Joni Lefkowitz serving as showrunner and Amanda Tapping directing the first two episodes. All three will executive produce alongside Jocelyn Hamilton. Production begins next month in Toronto. (Deadline.com, 8/27)
SPOT, THE (Hulu, New!) - Kate Winslet is attached to star in a new series at the streamer: "The Spot follows a successful surgeon (Winslet) and her school teacher husband who suspect she might be responsible for a child's hit-and-run death. While looking into the matter, dark secrets are revealed that will test their relationship as they confront the possibility of hidden guilt and betrayal." The project, which has a straight-to-series order, comes from Ed Solomon, who executive produces alongside Winslet for Juggle Productions, A24 and 20th Television. (Deadline.com, 8/26)
TED LASSO (Apple TV+) - Warner Bros. Television has picked up the options on Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein and Jeremy Swift, under the aegis of the UK acting union Equity, for a potential fourth season of the Emmy-winning comedy series. The report adds "the studio is expected to start reaching out to Ted Lasso cast members with SAG-AFTRA contracts whose options had expired, so they will need to make new deals." Not picked up was Phil Dunster, "presumably due to a conflict with another series." (Deadline.com, 8/24)
TEMPEST (Hulu) - The Korean spy drama has added Spencer Garrett, Brooke Smith, Tom Lenk, Michael Gaston, Joel de la Fuente and Romy Rosemont in unspecified roles. (Deadline.com, 8/28)
TWISTED METAL (Peacock) - Saylor Bell Curda, Michael James Shaw and Lisa Gilroy are slated to recur on the show's second season. They join returning cast members Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Seanoa and Will Arnett, as well as fellow newcomers Anthony Carrigan, Richard de Klerk, Patty Guggenheim and Tiana Okoye. YELLOWSTONE (Paramount Network) - Negotiations are underway for a sixth season of the network's flagship drama to be headlined by Kelly Reilly's Beth Dutton and Cole Hauser's Rip Wheeler and without Kevin Costner's John Dutton. Said development suggests the series will continue beyond its previously announced final episodes, which begin on November 10. (Deadline.com, 8/27)
Z-SUITE, THE (Tubi) - Nico Santos has been cast in the Lauren Graham/Madison Shamoun-led comedy series as Doug, "the exuberant and loyal right hand man to his CEO, Monica (Graham), at the Atelier Advertising Agency." (Deadline.com, 8/28)
