Netflix Announces "Aaron Rodgers: Enigma"; New Reveals & Renewals for Upcoming Sports Programs

Full Swing and UNTOLD Return in 2025; New Reveals on Upcoming Sports Programs: Polo, 2004 Boston Red Sox Series, Rez Ball and Senna

Netflix continues to expand its sports slate, offering members a wide variety of sports programming across series, films, documentaries and live events, including announcing its newest sports series, Aaron Rodgers: Enigma; the return of such favorites as Full Swing and UNTOLD; and some first-look images on upcoming series including, the 2004 Boston Red Sox series and a previously announced series on polo. Recently, the film Rez Ball premiered at TIFF and the upcoming limited series Senna debuts on November 29, 2024.

NEW SPORTS SERIES

· Today, Netflix announced its newest sports series, Aaron Rodgers: Enigma, with a first look clip and image. The Netflix sports series will follow Aaron Rodgers' comeback after tearing his Achilles, while also exploring his life and career through the intimate and difficult parts that made him a household name on and off the field.

· Full Swing returns for Season 3 next year, produced by Pro Shop Studios (Chad Mumm, Mark W. Olsen),Box to Box Films (Paul Martin, James Gay-Rees, Warren Smith) and Vox Media Studios. Full Swing, which follows a diverse group of professional golfers - on and off the course - during a relentless season of competition, has ranked in the Netflix Global Top 10 both previous seasons.

· All-new films for UNTOLD, slated for 2025, including a deep dive into the 2009 locker room gun incident between Washington Wizards players Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton; the bizarre chess cheating scandal involving chess grandmasters Hans Niemann and Magnus Carlsen; and the controversy and backlash surrounding social media personality The Liver King's steroid scandal. NEW SPORTS REVEALS

· As announced earlier this year, Archewell Productions and Boardwalk Pictures will produce Polo, a captivating new documentary premiering this December. The five-episode series offers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the fast-paced world of polo, following elite global players as they compete in the high-stakes U.S. Open Polo Championship in Wellington, Florida. Viewers will get an unprecedented glimpse into the dedication and skill required to compete at the sport's highest level. Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Chanel Pysnik will executive produce for Archewell Productions along with Andrew Fried, Sarina Roma, and Dane Lillegard for Boardwalk Pictures; Miloš Balać and Ian Samplin.

· The Comeback: 2004 Boston Red Sox, announced earlier this year, revisits one of the greatest comebacks in sports history when the Boston Red Sox overcame a 3-0 series deficit to defeat their archrivals the New York Yankees, en route to winning their first World Series title in 86 years and breaking the infamous "Curse of the Bambino." Premiering October 23, 2024, this definitive three-part documentary series celebrates the 20th anniversary of the team's groundbreaking postseason run with new, exclusive interviews featuring key players and figures including: Pedro Martinez, David Ortiz, Kevin Millar, Terry Francona & Theo Epstein, among many others. The Comeback: 2004 Boston Red Sox is produced by Meadowlark Media and Barnicle Brothers in association with MLB. Directed by Colin Barnicle. · Rez Ball, hot off its World Premiere at TIFF on Sunday September 8th, is set in the heart of Chuska, New Mexico, where the Chuska Warriors, a high school basketball team rich in Native American heritage, face their greatest challenge. After the loss of their star player, the team must unite like never before to keep their dreams of a state championship alive. Rez Ball is more than just a game; it's a journey of resilience and unity, a true underdog story deeply rooted in Native American culture. The film comes from producer LeBron James and his Springhill Company, and is co-written and produced by the co-creator of the Peabody Award winning series, Reservation Dogs, Sterlin Harjo. Directed and co-written by Sydney Freeland, who grew up on a Navajo reservation herself and brought her own firsthand experiences from playing rez ball in high school directly into the story. · Senna, announced previously, is the upcoming scripted limited series about the greatest Brazilian Formula 1 driver of all time: Ayrton Senna, who died in a racing accident 30 years ago, will showcase Senna's journey of triumphs, disappointments, joys, and sorrows, unveiling his personality and personal relationships. It begins with the start of the three-time Formula 1 champion's motor racing career, when he moves to England to compete in Formula Ford, and continues to his fatal accident in Imola, Italy, during the San Marino Grand Prix. The series stars Gabriel Leone as "Ayrton Senna;" Vicente Amorim is the showrunner and co-director, alongside Julia Rezende; Senna is produced by Fabiano Gullane and Caio Gullane with the support of Senna Brands and the driver's family. The six-episode drama debuts November 29.
