LOS ANGELES, CA (December 10, 2024) - Kicking off 2025, renowned bariatric surgeon Dr. Now comes to Lifetime for the premiere of brand-new original docuseries The 6000 lb. Diaries with Dr. Now, following ten morbidly obese individuals, who have collectively reached a combined weight of 6,000 pounds, and are fighting to lose it and transform their lives. Set at Dr. Now's prominent medical facility in Houston, the 10-episode, two-hour long series, features first-hand diary footage from the people who have reached a lose-or-die point in their lives. The new series premieres Monday, January 6, at 9 PM ET/PT.

The 6000 lb Diaries with Dr. Now follows ten morbidly obese individuals as they fight for a chance to live the life they have always wanted, both for themselves and for their loved ones. Reaching a combined weight of more than 6,000 pounds, and at an extreme breaking point, these individuals are turning to weight loss authority Dr. Now, and his team of specialists, to get life-changing bariatric surgery and acquire the tools they need to deal with emotional eating. Through intimate diary cams and confessionals, each episode highlights one person's comprehensive experience as they share intimate inner thoughts, emotional and physical struggles, and their ultimate journey to take back their lives.

Dr. Younan Nowzaradan ("Dr. Now") is a pioneer in advanced bariatric and vascular surgery. With over 40 years of experience, Dr. Now is regarded as one of the most experienced and knowledgeable weight loss physicians in the world bringing innovative solutions and surgical interventions to the field.
