The doctors of the Joaquin Sorolla hospital are back
Netflix has confirmed today the start of production of the second season of Breathless, Netflix's first hospital drama in Spain that left everyone breathless and that reached the global top 1 of the most watched non-English TV series after its release.
Joaquín Sorolla is now a privately run hospital, challenging the convictions and dynamics of its doctors. Beyond getting her own way, Patricia (Najwa Nimri) continues to battle with her cancer and to tighten an irresistible rope with Néstor (Borja Luna). Jesica (Blanca Suárez) seeks to regain the confidence that characterizes her, but cannot decide between Lluís and Biel (Manu Ríos). Pilar (Aitana Sánchez-Gijón) will continue to deal with her son's addictions, although Quique (Xóan Fórneas) will find in her an unexpected ally when the new management of the center leads him to make a questionable decision. Added to all this is the arrival of a prestigious oncologist, Sophie (Rachel Lascar), determined to turn the Joaquín Sorolla upside down.
Created by Carlos Montero and produced by El Desorden Crea, the series has Carlos Montero, Diego Betancor and Carlos Ruano as executive producers. This new 8-episode season will be directed by David Pinillos, Marta Font and Abril Zamora; and is written by Carlos Montero, Carlos Ruano, Guillermo Escribano, Adela Gutiérrez and Nach Solís.
The shooting of Breathless began a few weeks ago at the Netflix production center in Tres Cantos, where the set of more than 1,700 square meters that brings to life the Joaquín Sorolla Hospital is located. The series will complete its shooting in Valencia.
