Week of February 3, 2025

Monday, February 3

· "Contraband: Seized at the Border" New Season Debuts on Discovery Channel - 9pm ET/PT

· The border between the US and Mexico is the busiest in the world. This season, follow the work of America's Customs and Border Protection Agency as officers seize record amounts of illegal drugs entering the country from the south. They're also trying to halt the relentless flow of laundered cash, military-grade firearms and ammunition across the border because the cartels rely on it to fund their continuing power struggle in Mexico's border towns along the mighty Rio Grande.

Wednesday, February 5

· "Destinations of the Damned with Zak Bagans" New Episodes Debuts on Discovery Channel - 11pm ET/PT

· Paranormal investigator Zak Bagans ("Ghost Adventures") takes viewers to the farthest corners of the globe to explore the world's eeriest and most evil, cursed locations. Driven by the macabre history and hair-raising unexplained activity that surrounds each nefarious site, Bagans sends his documentary film crew around the globe to explore what lurks within. Connecting with resident eyewitnesses and paranormal practitioners, the crew navigates local legends, historic mysteries, diverse cultural beliefs and real-life horrors to document claims of hauntings, possessions and curses.

Sunday, February 9

· "Puppy Bowl XXI" Simulcast across Animal Planet, Discovery, TBS, truTV, Max and discovery+ - 2PM ET/PT

· The annual three-hour television event will feature 142 rescue puppies from 80 shelters across 40 states - and two countries - as they compete in the cutest competition of the year. With more puppies than ever before, Puppy Bowl XXI will highlight their inspiring journeys from birth to adoption, as well as the tremendous dedication of the rescues and shelters that help find animals their forever homes.

Every Wednesday

Subscribe to the podcast for the Puppy Bowl Episode! The show goes deeper into animal-assisted therapies, some amazing new research on sniffer dogs and detecting Covid-19, and the viral button-talking dogs! Leading up to Valentine's Day, the podcast uncovers the science of 'butterflies' when you have a crush, and how relationships influence our health through transgenerational epigenetics. Later episodes include an explainer on popular at-home DNA testing kits, and don't skip the last week of February where Curiosity Weekly gets into the meaning behind the current and rare planetary conjunction.
