'Dear Hongrang' Blends Mystery and Romance in New Period Drama Starring Lee Jae-wook and Cho Bo-ah
Lee Jae-wook (Alchemy of Souls) and Cho Bo-ah (Destined with You) star in the new Korean mystery romance period series Dear Hongrang, premiering May 16 on Netflix.
The newly unveiled teaser trailer opens with the disappearance of Hongrang as a child. Twelve years later, Hongrang (Lee Jae-wook) returns to the powerful Sim merchant household as a grown man, but with no memory of his past. Hongrang's half-sister Jae-yi (Cho Bo-ah) accuses him of being an imposter, refusing to believe he is her dear long-lost brother. Tension builds between Hongrang and Jae-yi, as she questions who he really is, and he dares her to find out.
Also starring in the series is Jung Ga-ram (Love Alarm) as Mu-jin, the adopted son of the Sim household who assumed Hongrang's place upon his disappearance; Uhm Ji-won (Little Women) as Min Yeon-ui, Hongrang's mother and head of the Min Family's Guild; Park Byung-eun (The Bequeathed, Kingdom: Ashin of the North) as Sim Yeol-guk, the Chief Merchant and father of Hongrang and Jae-yi; and Kim Jae-uck (Melo Movie) as Grand Prince Hanpyeong, who is also an artist with the finest taste in Joseon.
As these characters become embroiled in mystery, anticipation builds for what Dear Hongrang has in store for fans of mystery, romance, and period dramas alike.
Your hidden secrets, your unspoken truth. Dear Hongrang premieres May 16, only on Netflix.
