Everything We Know About The Marlow Murder Club Season 3

There's no rest for The Marlow Murder Club's intrepid crime-fighters, as filming of Season 3's three cunning new mysteries is done and dusted. Find out everything we know right now about Season 3, including when you can expect to watch it on MASTERPIECE, see first-look photos from Season 3, and get teasers from writer/creator Robert Thorogood and star Jo Martin (Suzie Harris).

Will there be a Season 3 of The Marlow Murder Club?

Happily, The Marlow Murder Club will return to MASTERPIECE Mystery! in 2026 for a third season; in fact, filming has been completed as of late September, 2025! In Season 3, three gripping new murder mysteries will be told across six episodes, with the first two episodes co-written by Marlow author/creator, Robert Thorogood, adapted from his 2024 mystery novel The Queen of Poisons.

What to Expect in The Marlow Murder Club Season 3

Now an established part of newly promoted DI Tanika Malik's crime-solving gang, retired archaeologist Judith Potts, dog walker Suzie Harris, and vicar's wife Becks Starling are back and bringing their unconventional methods to a string of high-profile murders. From the sudden death of the town's beloved mayor - the nicest man in Marlow - to a celebrity chef found dead at the launch of his cookbook with half the town in attendance, the team will be working under the watchful eye of the Marlow community. They'll also be called to action at a university reunion in an eerie manor house where, in a surprising twist, Becks finds herself among the suspects. Could this case threaten our amateur sleuths' roles as civilian advisors?

Robert Thorogood Teases The Marlow Murder Club Season 3

With Episodes 1 and 2 adapted from Thorogood's 2024 mystery novel The Queen of Poisons, the writer/creator had no shortage of fascinating insights and Season 3 teases in his interview with The MASTERPIECE Studio Podcast. Of the plot's murder of Marlow's mayor, he told host Jace Lacob, "It was only when I was writing the book that I realized that I know the mayor of Marlow, so I suddenly thought, oh gosh, I mustn't commit slander or libel here... You'll see that I've had to make the mayor a really lovely person, and in some respects, the mystery of the book and the mystery of the world is, 'Why would you kill someone you could never have had a motive to want to kill?'" Hear more about The Queen of Poison's inspirations.

Jo Martin on The Marlow Murder Club Season 3

When asked during her interview with MASTERPIECE about what's ahead in Season 3, Martin did not disappoint, revealing, "Well, I'll tell you this. Hugh Quarshie [Professor Darius Gifford] is back. He's Mr. Smooth - that's his name on set because he's just so bloody smooth. He's back, so you can only begin to imagine: Will they or won't they? Also, you're going to get a little surprise because Suzie is now deciding that she needs some love in her life. And what happens after she makes that decision? Wait and see. I was shocked when I read it. I was like, "What, sir? What?"

Returning for Season 3 are Natalie Dew as newly-promoted DCI Tanika Malik, and Samantha Bond (Judith Potts), Jo Martin (Suzie Harris), and Cara Horgan (Becks Starling), as our murder club members, also newly promoted, from amateur sleuth to civilian advisor.
