ID PRESENTS ITS FOURTH ANNUAL NO EXCUSE FOR ABUSE CAMPAIGN THIS OCTOBER, ANCHORED BY THE DOCUMENTARY PREMIERE OF "HUNTED BY MY HUSBAND: THE UNTOLD STORY OF THE DC SNIPER"

-- ID Joins with the National Domestic Violence Hotline (The Hotline) and Continues its Work with NO MORE to Bring Advocacy and Awareness to Viewers During Domestic Violence Awareness Month -

(New York, NY) - This October, Investigation Discovery (ID) proudly presents the fourth year of its impactful NO EXCUSE FOR ABUSE campaign in alignment with Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Announcing a new collaboration with the nation's only 24/7 hotline for those impacted by relationship abuse, the National Domestic Violence Hotline (The Hotline), and through a continued partnership with the global awareness and prevention nonprofit NO MORE, this campaign underscores ID's unwavering commitment to shedding light on the multifaceted and complex dynamics of intimate partner violence with resources and programming initiatives. Anchoring the month is an in-depth exploration of the issue by revisiting one of the most terrifying chapters in history through the lens of survival and resilience with the premiere of HUNTED BY MY HUSBAND: THE UNTOLD STORY OF THE DC SNIPER, premiering on Tuesday, October 28 from 9-11pm ET/PT.

HUNTED BY MY HUSBAND reveals the story of the DC Sniper and places Mildred Muhammad - the ex-wife of convicted DC Sniper John Muhammad - at the center of the narrative. Her testimony reveals the chilling reality that the violence that gripped the D.C. area in 2002 was not a series of random killings, but part of a calculated plan rooted in manipulation, control, and domestic abuse driven by a single, dark obsession: John's relentless desire to murder his ex-wife so he could have custody of their three children. The documentary reveals the harrowing torment Mildred endured, and the lengths to which her abuser would go to kill her, even at the cost of innocent lives.

In the documentary, Mildred bravely shares her story of survival and the years of emotional, financial, and psychological abuse that preceded his murderous rampage. Through exclusive interviews, never-before-seen home video of the Muhammad family, and commentary from domestic violence experts and law enforcement officers who worked tirelessly to track and identify the snipers, the documentary explores how the justice system, media, and public perception missed critical warning signs of abuse and coercive control, and challenges our society as a whole to rethink what we know of domestic violence.

"By shining a light on the hidden realities of domestic violence in all its forms, our annual No Excuse for Abuse campaign is designed to empower survivors, educate viewers, and help break the silence that allows abuse to persist," said Jason Sarlanis, President of ID. "Though our on-air programming and network initiatives, ID fosters awareness, empathy, and action - and a reminder to survivors and their loved ones that they are not alone and help is available."

Through joint efforts with The Hotline and NO MORE, ID is dedicated to empowering viewers with the knowledge and tools necessary to identify all forms of domestic violence, find support if needed, and become part of the solution. For comprehensive information and the list of network initiatives, please visit the campaign's website at NoExcuseForAbuse.com. HUNTED BY MY HUSBAND: THE UNTOLD STORY OF THE DC SNIPER is produced for Investigation Discovery by Lion Television, an All3Media Company, in association with MarksMediaCo. and Red Sky Entertainment.
