City of Shadows, the new Netflix thriller arrives on December 12

Netflix has unveiled the first images from its new police thriller series City of Shadows, starring Isak Férriz (Bank Robbery, Burning Body, Below Zero) and Verónica Echegui (Intimacy, Dr. García's Patients). The series is directed by Jorge Torregrossa (Burning Body, Cocaine Coast, Intimacy) and produced by Arcadia. It will premiere on Netflix on 12 December.

A macabre crime has taken place at La Pedrera - Casa Milà: a burned body has been discovered on the façade of Gaudí's iconic building. Inspector Milo Malart (Isak Férriz), recently suspended from the Mossos d'Esquadra for insubordination, returns to duty in the Catalan capital. Together with Deputy Inspector Rebeca Garrido (Verónica Echegui), he sets out to uncover the culprit behind the crime.

The cast also features Ana Wagener (The Innocent), Manolo Solo (The Fury of a Patient Man), and Jordi Ballester (Perdida). The six episodes, which adapt the first novel by Aro Sáinz de la Maza - author of the Milo Malart tetralogy published by Destino (Grupo Planeta) - were written by director Jorge Torregrossa alongside screenwriters Carlos López and Clara Esparrach.

Filming took place in various locations across Catalonia, including some of Barcelona's most iconic landmarks, turning the city itself into a central character within the story.
