"Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is the official kickoff to the holiday season and has been part of the nation's stories and traditions for generations," said Will Coss, Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade executive producer. During that time, materials that would have been used in the celebration, including rubber, were dedicated to the war effort.
