AMERICAN LOVE STORY (FX) - Constance Zimmer will recur on the anthology series as "Carolyn's (Sarah Pidgeon) mother Ann Messina Freeman, who lost two of her three daughters in the crash, Carolyn and her sister Lauren (Sydney Lemmon)." (Deadline.com, 11/14)
BAD MONKEY (Apple TV) - The show's second season has added Brent Morin, Peter Billingsley, and June Diane Raphael in recurring roles. No other details were given. (Deadline.com, 11/11)
BECOMING MARLOW FIN (NBC, New!) - Ellen Won Steil's novel is being developed for TV at Universal Television and presumably NBC: "The story is set over the course of an explosive primetime interview where global superstar Marlow Fin's mysterious life is revealed. She recounts the events leading up to the disappearance of her sister and publicly makes the case for her innocence as the prime suspect in her presumed murder." Writer Des Moran and director Malcolm D. Lee are spearheading the adaptation with all three executive producing alongside Dominque Telson and Michael Scott Allen. (Deadline.com, 11/10)
BLOODAXE (Amazon) - Arthur McBain is the latest addition to the Viking drama series as Sigrod, "one of the many brothers of [Xavier] Molyneux's Erik Bloodaxe." (Deadline.com, 11/11)
BOYS FROM BILOXI, THE (Amazon, New!) - Patrick Macmanus is developing a small screen take on John Grisham's 2022 novel at the streamer: "The Boys From Biloxi is a high-stakes family crime drama centered on two childhood best friends - one a prosecutor, the other a mob heir - who are forced onto a violent collision course by the sins of their fathers and for the soul of their city." Grisham, David Gernert, Jenna Bush Hagerm, and Ben Spector will also executive produce for Thousand Voices, Littleton Road Productions, and Universal Content Productions. (Deadline.com, 11/13)
DEATH STRANDING ISOLATIONS (Disney+, New!) - Hideo Kojima's post-apocalyptic game series is set to be the focus of a new 2D anime series at the streamer: "Set in the same world as the video game, Death Stranding Isolations follows Sam Bridges as he attempts to save America, and those trying to deal with their isolation in their own way. An old man is trying to realize salvation through ways outside of the connection advocated by Bridges. A female warrior is trying to kickstart a world of constant fighting. A boy holds a grudge against Bridges, and a girl has embraced her loneliness. On the precipice of the end of humanity and the world, their fates and hopes converge, as another story of Death Stranding begins." Takayuki Sano is directing for E&H Production. DORA/TALES OF THE TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES (Paramount+) - The streamer has canceled both animated offerings in advance of their upcoming seasons. The latter returns for its second season in December while the former has no specific return date for its fourth season. A fifth and final season of "Dora" has also been produced but its fate remains up in the air. The report notes "Paramount is actively exploring third-party licensing opportunities for both series." ELISSAS, THE (Netflix, New!) - Lena Dunham and Heather Regnier have sold a new drama to the streamer based on Samantha Leach's book, subtitled "Three Girls, One Fate, and the Deadly Secrets of Suburbia." The project is "set in the days following September 11, 2001, as the teens of Brooklyn private school Remson Prep are on their own- crashing together, breaking apart, and fighting to individuate themselves. The Elissas is an ode to classic high school ensemble dramas, at once a gritty story of unsupervised city kids at the turn of the millennium and an examination of the inherent power and self-determination of teenage girls." Leach, Michael Cohen, Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, and Katy Rozelle are also among the executive producers for Good Thing Going, Working Title Television, and Universal International Studios. ELSBETH (CBS) - Steve Buscemi, Hamish Linklater, and Jeff Hiller are the latest bound for the series. Buscemi will play Simon, "a five-time crossword champion and this year's favorite to win again"; with Linklater as Archer Bryant, "a tech-entrepreneur turned fitness freak with a quest to live forever"; and Hiller as Felix, "one of New York's big wigs, the top wigmakers in the city." ENGLISH TEACHER (FX) - Brian Jordan Alvarez's comedy series has been canceled after two seasons. (Deadline.com, 11/12)
EUPHORIA (HBO) - Jeff Wahlberg will recur on the much-ballyhooed third season in a yet-to-be-revealed role. (Deadline.com, 11/10)
HOT MONEY: THE NEW NARCOS (Apple TV, New!) - The streamer is developing a TV series based on the eight-part podcast from the Financial Times and Pushkin Industries: "Investigated and hosted by Financial Times' reporter Miles Johnson, Hot Money: The New Narcos follows a cocaine super cartel that revolutionized the global drugs market, connecting Ireland's Kinahan crime family to a mysterious murder in a small town, and a web of drugs, money laundering and state-sponsored assassinations stretching from Dublin to Dubai." Johnson will executive produce alongside Richard Plelper and Heather Karpas for Eden Productions. (Deadline.com, 11/14)
IN THE CITY (Bravo, New!) - "Summer House" alums Kyle Cooke, Amanda Batula, and Lindsay Hubbard are set to be the focus of a New York City-based spin-off series at the network: "In the city that never sleeps, a group of New Yorkers navigates the biggest transitions of their lives - marriage, parenthood, reinvention, and the reality of growing up without growing apart. Can they have it all, or will they need to choose between the lives they've built and the futures they never saw coming?" Steven Weinstock, Glenda Hersh, Lauren Eskelin, Jamie Jakimo, Lori Gordon, and Tamara Najm Coudurier are the executive producers for Truly Original. (Deadline.com, 11/13)
KILL THE BEDFORDS (Amazon, New!) - O-T Fagbenle is developing a new project at Amazon MGM Studios billed as "a darkly comedic, action-packed apocalyptic road series about a dysfunctional family trying to save their grandfather as the world crumbles around them. It explores survival, technology, and human stubbornness through the lens of a family that can't stop arguing - even as civilization collapses." Fagbenle will also star in the series with Luti Fagbenle and Sheila Nortley of Osun Group likewise executive producing. (Variety.com, 11/12)
MADE IN KOREA (Hulu) - The upcoming drama has been renewed for a second season, in advance of its December 24 premiere. (Deadline.com, 11/12)
MEMORY OF A KILLER (FOX) - Aaron Zelman and Glenn Kessler have been named co-showrunners of the upcoming drama, where they'll take over from Ed Whitmore, Tracey Malone, and David Schulner. No specific reason was given. The change isn't expected to disrupt its targeted January premiere as filming is underway on episode six of its 10-episode order. Kessler had been a consulting producer on the series. (Deadline.com, 11/10)
MERRY BERRY LOVE (Disney+, New!) - Ji Changwook and Mio Imada will lead a new Korea-Japan series at the streamer: "The romantic comedy follows a down-on-luck Korean spatial designer Lee Yubin (played by Ji) and a strawberry farmer Karin Shirahama (played by Imada), who find love on a remote Japanese island." Kim Soojung is directing from scripts by Lee Jaeyoon for CJ ENM and Nippon TV. (Deadline.com, 11/12)
NEED TO KNOW (NBC, New!) - Taye Diggs is attached to star in a proposed drama at the network: "Need To Know is a spy procedural based on actual events about a battle-scarred CIA veteran (Diggs) who must team up with a cocky young officer as they run the CIA's most daring operations from a secret base in South Florida." Writer Terence Paul Winter and director Malcolm D. Lee are behind the project, which was created by Alexander Maggio. Diggs, Winter, Lee, Dominique Telson, Jerry O'Shea, and John Sipher are the executive producers for Blackmaled Productions, Spycraft Entertainment, and Universal Television with Michael Scott Allen and Rachel Harner as co-executive producers. NOMAD (Apple TV, New!) - Jason Momoa is attached to star in a new drama for the streaming service: "In the violent underworld of New Zealand's outlaw bikers, a warrior torn between two lives, two callings and two families must decide which path defines his true destiny." Kurt Sutter and Chris Collins are behind the project with Momoa and Brian Mendoza also executive producing for SutterInk, Generator Entertainment, and On the Roam. (Deadline.com, 11/12)
OLD MONEY (Netflix) - The streaming service has renewed the Turkish drama for a second season. (Deadline.com, 11/13)
POKER FACE (Peacock) - The streamer has canceled the Natasha Lyonne-led drama after two seasons. However, creator Rian Johnson plans to shop the project elsewhere for a two-season commitment with Peter Dinklage taking over the role of Charlie, "the sleuth whose superpower is an innate ability to detect liars." Lyonne and Johnson told the publication: "We've been germinating this next move together since writing the season two finale. We love our Poker Face and this is the perfect way to keep it rolling. Give us a beat and we may just see Charlie Cale again down that open highway." (Deadline.com, 11/13)
PRESUMED INNOCENT (Apple TV) - Lesley-Ann Brandt has joined the cast of the show's second season in a yet-to-be-revealed role. (Deadline.com, 11/14)
RJ DECKER (ABC) - Jaina Lee Ortiz has joined the cast of the Scott Speedman-led drama series. She'll play Emi Ochoa, "the shrewd-if-unpredictable daughter of a very powerful, very corrupt state senator with ties to RJ's (Speedman) past." She succeeds Weruche Opia, who played the role (then named Shay Bennett) in the original pilot. (Deadline.com, 11/12)
SHIFTING GEARS (ABC) - Jesse Williams will recur on the current season as Andy, "a single dad who frequents Riley's (Kat Dennings) coffee cart and has eyes for Riley too." (Variety.com, 11/11)
TRAVIS JAPAN SUMMER VACATION!! IN THE USA (Disney+, New!) - J-pop group Travis Japan will be the focus of a new documentary series at the streamer: "The series follows the seven members of Travis Japan as they travel from Arches National Park to Durango, Monument Valley, Sedona and more." The travel series, due next year, "was filmed across 10 days immediately after their most recent world tour." (Deadline.com, 11/12)
UNTITLED DAN FOGELMAN NFL SERIES (Hulu) - Omar Epps, Michael McGrady, Calahan Skogman, and Thomas Q. Jones have all landed roles on the football drama. Epps plays "a former NFL player who is now Offensive Coordinator"; with McGrady as "a defensive coordinator"; and Skogman and Jones as unspecified football players. (Deadline.com, 11/12)
UNTITLED DEL TREDICI AND GOOR PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredici have scored a pilot production commitment from the network for a single-camera comedy: "The untitled project, co-written and executive produced by Goor and Del Tredici, is a workplace comedy set in the world of private detectives. Per the creators, it continues the proud tradition of Los Angeles private eyes that began with Philip Marlowe and will end with this show." Universal Television is producing. (Deadline.com, 11/11)
UNTITLED JARED PADALECKI PROJECT (CBS) - The proposed medical drama starring Jared Padalecki has received "a development/writers room order" from the network. Anna Fricke is behind the hour with Padalecki and Laura Terry also executive producing for Pursued by a Bear and CBS Studios with Genevieve Padalecki as a producer. Dan Spilo is no longer involved. UNTITLED JENNY MCCARTHY PROJECT (Syndication, New!) - Jenny McCarthy is set to host of a potential daytime talk show/video podcast hybrid for Telepictures: "The daytime talker/podcast hybrid would feature McCarthy sharing celebrity gossip, sharing advice, telling stories and talking to celebrity guests, experts, everyday people and viewer call ins. Episodes will center on a daily theme cued to something McCarthy is passionate about, while segments will also focus on human interest stories, viral trends, and self-help/beauty/wellness." McCarthy will also executive produce with her husband, Donnie Wahlberg, also appearing in recurring segments. No other auspices were given. (Variety.com, 11/11)
UNTITLED JIMMY OLSEN PROJECT (HBO Max, New!) - Skyler Gisondo is set to star in a proposed "Superman" spin-off TV series focused on "Daily Planet photographer and unlikely ladies' man Jimmy Olsen" as well as "other Daily Planet reporters (minus Lois Lane and Clark Kent), who tackle cases involving super-powered villains." Said report also adds, "Gorilla Grodd would be in the spotlight for the season." Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda are spearheading the project with James Gunn and Peter Safran also executive producing for DC Studios and Warner Bros. Television. (THR.com, 11/10)
V FOR VENDETTA (HBO, New!) - Pete Jackson is developing a TV take on the famed comic serial written by Alan Moore and illustrated by David Lloyd for the network: "The story is set in Britain in a dystopian, not-too-distant future in which the country is controlled by the fascistic Norsefire party. An anarchist named V, known for his distinctive Guy Fawkes mask, seeks to topple the government with the help of Evey Hammond, a young woman V rescued from the country's secret police." Ben Stephenson of Poison Pen; Leanne Klein of Wall to Wall Media; and James Gunn and Peter Safran of DC Studios will also executive produce for Warner Bros. Television. (Variety.com, 11/10)
VISION QUEST (Disney+) - Lauren Morais and Diane Morgan have both landed roles on the eight-episode series from Marvel Studios. Morais is playing Lisa Molinari, "a character closely connected to [Ruaridh] Mollica's Thomas Shepherd"; while Morgan is playing "an associate of [Todd] Stashwick's character, Paladin." WATSON (CBS) - Director/executive producer Larry Teng has renewed his overall deal with CBS Studios, his home for the past six years. (Deadline.com, 11/14)
