Los Angeles, CA - November 19, 2025 - FOX Entertainment Studios today announced that acclaimed producer and leading entertainment executive Maria Zuckerman has entered into a multi-year first-look producing deal to develop and produce premium scripted series and feature films, as well as prestige non-fiction projects, including documentaries and limited and ongoing series.

An Emmy Award-winning producer and respected industry leader, Zuckerman is known for her ability to identify and champion brand-defining stories and talent that balance artistic excellence with commercial success. Her credits include HBO's 100 Foot Wave (2025 Emmy(R) Award for Best Documentary Series), Grey Gardens, Spencer, The Mauritanian, Nanny, and Theatre Camp, among others.

Under the new partnership, Zuckerman will work closely with FOX Entertainment Studios' leadership to build a strategic, multi-project pipeline that aligns with the studio's creative and business priorities, including prestige drama, genre diversification, and franchise-ready IP that can travel globally across linear, streaming, and emerging digital formats.

Maria Zuckerman is an Emmy-winning producer and senior entertainment executive recognized for shaping brand-defining, prestige projects across film, television, and documentary. As Founder and Principal of Sea Lion Media, as well as via her previous roles, she has produced and overseen acclaimed titles including HBO's 100 Foot Wave (Emmy Award for Best Documentary Series), the Oscar-nominated Spencer, Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner Nanny, Best Movie Emmy winner Grey Gardens, Golden Globe winner The Mauritanian, and Sundance breakout Theatre Camp, collaborating with filmmakers such as Peter Morgan, Richard Curtis, Spike Lee, Stephen Frears, and David Yates. She has developed, produced, and sold shows across all media outlets, including HBO/ WarnerMedia, Netflix, Amazon, Apple, Paramount/Viacom, Blumhouse, Searchlight, Sony Pictures Classics, STX, Freeform/Disney, Magnolia Pictures, and IFC, as well as partnering with NEON, Magnolia, and Bleecker Street as a distributor on theatrical feature film releases.

Previously, Zuckerman served as President of Topic Studios, where she re-engineered the company into a leading independent entertainment brand whose projects earned Oscar, Emmy, Golden Globe, and Sundance honors. She spent nearly two decades at HBO, rising to Senior Vice President of HBO Films, overseeing more than 30 acclaimed productions and pioneering the network's international co-production business for original movies. She is a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, PGA, and BAFTA.
