RICKY GERVAIS RETURNS TO NETFLIX WITH STAND-UP SPECIAL - MORTALITY

The Emmy and Golden Globe-winning comedy legend brings his stand-up tour to Netflix on December 30th.

Netflix today announced Ricky Gervais: Mortality, the highly-anticipated fourth stand-up special from the multi-award-winning comedian, writer, and director, will have its global release on Monday 30th December.

Following the success of his previous Netflix specials, Humanity, Supernature, and the Golden Globe-winning Armageddon, the seven-time BAFTA winner is back on stage, as unfiltered as ever.

Filmed earlier this year at the London Palladium, the special will premiere on Netflix on Monday, December 30th. No topic is off limits as Ricky closes out the year with his best show yet.

In a special that further solidifies his reputation as one of the most influential voices in comedy, Gervais takes on his own mortality in a brutally honest and darkly funny stand-up special about his life, death and the state of the world.

Gervais said: "I think Mortality is my most honest and confessional show so far and also my favourite tour. I still can't believe what a privilege it is to fly around the world making people laugh."

After his last show Armageddon hit number 1 on Netflix in 2023, winning a Golden Globe and earning a Grammy nomination, whilst also claiming the world record for the highest-grossing comedy gig of all time (his show at LA's Hollywood Bowl), Gervais returned in 2024 with Mortality.

This December will see Gervais complete a sell-out tour of over 80 arena shows across the globe, taking in LA's Hollywood Bowl, NYC's Radio City Music Hall, a 14 night run at the London Palladium, 3 massive shows at OVO Wembley Arena, and sell outs in Europe's capital cities, breaking the box office record for English speaking comedy shows in Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland & the Czech Republic. Earlier this year, he was presented with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

As Gervais has done with his previous tours, a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales at the end of the Mortality tour will be donated to charity - more details to follow soon of this tour's donation. At the end of the Armageddon tour in 2023, £1.91 million was donated to worldwide animal charities. He is confident that he has smashed that figure this time

Ricky Gervais: Mortality premieres globally on Netflix on December 30th.
