New Korean Series 'Beauty in the Beast' (WT) in Production: A Fantasy Campus Romance With a Wolfy Twist

Netflix has officially greenlit Beauty in the Beast (WT), a fresh fantasy romance that follows Min-soo, a college freshman with a secret ability to transform into a wolf; her campus senior Hae-jun; and Do-ha, a mysterious boy who is also a werewolf. Rising stars Kim Min-ju, Lomon, and Moon Sang-min lead the ensemble.

Set on a modern campus, Beauty in the Beast (WT) traces Min-soo's coming-of-age as she enters college after years of rigorous training to suppress her instincts and avoid transforming. Navigating a new world - and new feelings - she finds herself caught between the steady warmth of Hae-jun and the free-spirited pull of Do-ha.

The series is helmed by director Jin Hyuk (The Tale of Lady Ok, Sisyphus: The Myth, The Legend of the Blue Sea), known for his delicate character work and striking visual style. The script is written by Gin Han-sai (Extracurricular, Glitch), whose bold, innovative storytelling has captivated audiences. Produced by Studio 329 (Extracurricular, Crime Puzzle), the project brings together a seasoned creative team with a keen eye for contemporary genre stories.

Meet the cast:

Kim Min-ju (Hear Me: Our Summer, Undercover High School, Connection) plays central character Ha Min-soo, a curious young woman with a growing to-do list, determined to experience the world despite a life spent hiding her powers.

Lomon (All of Us Are Dead, Family Matters, Branding in Seongsu) portrays Do-ha, a free-spirited werewolf whose uninhibited nature clashes with Min-soo's restraint.

Moon Sang-min (Under the Queen's Umbrella, Wedding Impossible, Cinderella at 2AM) is Hae-jun, Min-soo's seemingly aloof but gentle campus senior - soft-hearted beneath a poker face, and affectionately referred to as a "golden retriever." Generally uninterested in others, Min-soo's unpredictable behavior catches his attention.

Stay tuned for more updates on Beauty in the Beast (WT), only on Netflix.
