HBO Max Announces Global Premiere Of MADAM BEJA, Debuting February 2

Starring Grazi Massafera, David Junior, And André Luiz Miranda, The New Brazilian Soap Opera Will Be Available In More Than 100 Countries Where The Streaming Platform Is Present

São Paulo, January 14, 2026 - HBO Max has announced the global premiere of its new Brazilian telenovela, MADAM BEJA, debuting on February 2. In addition to its national release, the production will debut simultaneously in more than 100 countries and territories, including Latin America, Portugal, Spain, France, the United States, Canada, and Hong Kong.

Inspired by the life of Ana Jacinta de São José, a historical figure from Minas Gerais, MADAM BEJA offers a new interpretation of the iconic telenovela originally aired in the 1980s. To recreate the universe, the production built a 1,710m² set and crafted over 3,000 costumes pieces exclusively for the series.

The storyline follows a woman who challenges the social norms of her time in a context marked by restrictions and inequalities. Throughout the plot, themes such as desire, freedom, power, and revenge intertwine to shape a complex character, whose intelligence and independent place her in constant conflict.

MADAM BEJA is produced by Floresta and licensed by Warner Bros. Discovery. Written by Daniel Berlinsky and António Barreira, with collaborations from Maria Clara Mattos, Cecília Giannetti, Clara Anastácia and Ceci Alves. General direction is by Hugo de Sousa, with direction by Bia Coelho, João Boltshauser, Rogerio Sagui, Thiago Teitelroit and Ana Angel. On behalf of Floresta, executive production is by Adriana Silva (Dida), Roberta Guzzon, and Tayane Saad. The production is based on the synopsis developed by Renata Jhin, António Barreira, and Daniel Berlinsky, in a reinterpretation of the original work created by Wilson Aguiar Filho. For Warner Bros. Discovery, the production was under the supervision of Mariano César and Anouk Aaron.
