An investigative series, MonsterQuest: Origins unearths the real histories behind the nation's most chilling cryptid legends beginning Tuesday, January 27 on www.HISTORY.com and HISTORY's YouTube Channel.
The series reflects A+E Global Media's commitment to delivering smart, highly shareable digital content that resonates with modern audiences while deepening the company's legacy of compelling historical and cultural storytelling. The series joins previously released digital series Command Decisions: Presidents on the Brink hosted by Doris Kearns Goodwin which is currently available to stream on HISTORY.com.
MonsterQuest: Origins takes viewers deep into the wilderness of the United States to uncover the truth behind some of the country's most enduring legends. Premiering weekly on Tuesdays, each of the 6-episodes explores a different national or state park known for eerie myths and cryptid sightings and moves from legend to landscape, connecting monsters like the Jersey Devil, Wendigo, and La Llorona to the histories and fears that shaped them.
The series is hosted by Sapphire Sandalo - a podcaster, paranormal historian, and occultist whose work has helped redefine the modern paranormal landscape. Sandalo has built a passionate community of more 2.5 million through projects that elevate diverse cultural perspectives on the supernatural. She is the creator of the award-winning "Stories With Sapphire" and the web series and podcast "Something Scary," and serves as an expert on "Paranormal Caught On Camera" and "Paranormal Night Shift." She also appears as co-host and investigator on "The Ghost Town Terror." Her lifelong fascination with the unexplained, inspired by her grandfather's stories from the Philippines, brings both authenticity and cultural depth to the series.
This digital series is an extension of the fan-favorite series MonsterQuest which is currently airing new episodes on The HISTORY Channel every Friday night at 10/9c. Each hour-long episode features chilling eye-witness accounts of everyday people and their run-ins with what they believe to be monsters.
