ZORRO IS COMING TO MHZ CHOICE

INTERNATIONAL STREAMER ACQUIRES EXCLUSIVE NORTH AMERICAN RIGHTS TO FRENCH ZORRO ADAPTATION STARRING OSCAR(R) WINNER JEAN DUJARDIN AS THE ICONIC SWASHBUCKLER

-Series from France tv distribution will premiere June 30, 2026 and is highlighted in MHz Choice's "Coming in 2026" reel-

Fairfax, VA - Jan. 25, 2026 - Kino Lorber's MHz Choice, the leading streaming service for international dramas and mysteries, has acquired exclusive North American rights from France tv distribution to a French series adaptation of the iconic Zorro, starring Oscar(R) winner Jean Dujardin (The Artist) in the titular role. Broadly appealing with a light comedic touch, the eight-episode limited series is set to premiere on MHz Choice this summer, launching June 30th, 2026, and is highlighted in MHz's "Coming in 2026" reel, released today.

The series originally premiered on France 2 in December 2024 and rolled out on Paramount+ in select international markets - this marks the first time it will be available in the U.S. and Canada. The series will also include a "Making of" special that details the process of reimagining Zorro in this new French iteration.

"Zorro marks the most well-known IP we've brought to MHz to date," said Lance Schwulst, Executive Vice President, Content Strategy, MHz Choice. "There are a lot of Zorro adaptations, but this one really stood out to us as unlike any other we've seen. It's fun, adventurous, sexy and cheeky, and with Jean Dujardin as the man behind the mask, who would say no?"

"This new version of Zorro was conceived in the tradition of swashbuckling films and French vaudeville. The result is a delightful blend of spectacular action and romantic comedy. We are absolutely thrilled that our version of Zorro can be discovered by American audiences," said Zorro producer Marc Dujardin. "Although he is a hero who has always been at the crossroads of diverse cultural and historical references, he was born in the mind of an American author who loved California: Johnston McCulley."

"MHz Choice has been a longtime partner of ours and we're thrilled they will bring this series to North America. We look forward to the launch of Zorro, to which Jean Dujardin brings a French touch to an iconic international IP," said Julia Schulte, SVP International Sales at France tv distribution and Michelle Palant, International Sales Manager at France tv distribution.

Shot entirely in Spain, the series was created by Benjamin Charbit (Under Control, Gagarine, Notre Dame, Savages, The Trouble with You) and Noé Debré (Parliament, Stillwater, Dheepan), who serve as co-writers alongside Emmanuel Poulain-Arnaud (The Test). The series was directed by Jean-Baptiste Saurel (Parallels) and Emilie Noblet (Parliament, The 7 Lives of Lea). It was co-produced by Paramount+, France Télévisions, Marc Dujardin's Le Collectif 64 and Julien Seul's Bien Sûr Productions.

The series is set in 1821, as Don Diego de la Vega (Dujardin) unexpectedly becomes mayor of his beloved city of Los Angeles. As the city faces financial problems due to the greed of a local businessman, Don Emmanuel (Eric Elmosnino), Diego decides to call on his alter ego Zorro for a helping hand. Donning the mask for the first time in 20 years, Diego must then reconcile his dual identity as Zorro and mayor, and shield his secret identity from his wife Gabriella (Audrey Dana).
