The Grand Tour Is Back!

New Hosts Taking the Wheel: Francis Bourgeois, James Engelsman and Thomas Holland Gear Up to Drive The Grand Tour Into a New Era

The Grand Tour returns to Prime Video later this year

LONDON - 5th February, 2026 - Today, Prime Video revealed the presenters of the new series of The Grand Tour; celebrated trainspotter and secret petrolhead Francis Bourgeois, alongside James Engelsman and Thomas Holland, the acclaimed creators of the YouTube phenomenon Throttle House.

Together, the trio will front a six-part, globe-trotting series, tackling motoring's most pressing, and delightfully absurd, questions across some of the world's most challenging terrains.

Two years after Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May drove off into the Botswana sunset for the final time, The Grand Tour roars back with a new series packed with big adventure, big horsepower, and big laughs - from crossing the Angolan desert in track cars to exploring Malaysia's vibrant car culture, before heading to California to test cutting-edge America's latest and greatest performance cars. The new series of The Grand Tour, produced by Studio Lambert, honours the show's legacy while driving it into a new era.

Franics Bourgeois said: "The saying 'big shoes to fill' spring to mind. Well, in this case it'll be like Mo Farah running in Size 14 wellies - it'll be a little awkward at first, perhaps blister inducing but will overall be an interesting watch."

James Engelsman said: "I've worked with Thomas for almost a decade making car films. Who knew that all this time, the one ingredient that was missing was a Francis Bourgeois? Let the car adventures commence."

Thomas Holland said: "When I first heard they were rebooting The Grand Tour and replacing Clarkson Hammond and May, I said "only a moron would take that job."

Tara Erer, Head of UK & Northern Europe Originals said: "The Grand Tour is Prime Video's most watched unscripted UK Original series globally, so finding the right successors was no small feat - but we've absolutely struck gold. We're beyond excited to pass the keys to Thomas, James, and Francis, three standout talents who emerged from an extensive search. Each bringing distinctive talents and energy that will propel the series into exciting new territory while capturing the spirit of adventure and camaraderie of this beloved franchise."

Mr. Wilman said: "We are properly happy to hand over the baton to Thomas, James and Francis, because quite simply - they are doing it right. Not only do they have passion and knowledge, but more importantly they are in no way cardboard cutouts of the old three. They have a delightful chemistry that's all of their own making."

Tim Harcourt, Chief Creative Officer, Studio Lambert said: "The Grand Tour has humour and a pure love of cars at its heart. It's been a delight to find and film a brilliant new trio who take these values across the world from Angola and Malaysia to California and Didcot Parkway."

With millions of subscribers, the Throttle House duo, Thomas and James, have built a global following with their irreverent, witty approach to reviewing new and old cars. Thomas, an automotive journalist and amateur race car driver based in Canada specializes in high-performance vehicles, while James brings an enthusiast's eye and unique individual taste; famously exemplified by his Toyota Century Limousine built for Japanese royalty.

Francis Bourgeois may be the world's most famous trainspotter, with a social media audience of almost six million, but he's also a qualified mechanical engineer with experience at Rolls-Royce. His profound technical knowledge and ability to identify a car's make solely by the sound of its engine bring a unique, infectious energy to the team.

The new guard bring warmth, energy and a whole lot of opinions. The Grand Tour returns to Prime Video later this year and will launch globally in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Executive Producers for Studio Lambert are Phil Churchward, Tim Harcourt, Stephen Lambert, Alex Renton, Nia Yemoh with Production Executives: Hilary Berkshire, Diana Focke.

NOTES TO EDITORS:

Further Presenter Information

Francis Bourgeois

Rail enthusiast, broadcaster and content creator, and little-known die-hard petrolhead Francis Bourgeois, inspires others to embrace their true selves and pursue their passions.

Gaining cult status for his warm, uplifting, and engaging trainspotting adventures, Francis has rapidly become one of the UK's most recognizable digital creators, with an audience of nearly six million.

Francis's had a recent two part series, with Mission to Space with Francis Bourgeois (Channel 4) and Francis and Chris: We Saved a Train (Quest) is being released in 2026. He has collaborated with top brands such as Gucci, LEGO, M&S, Jean Paul Gaultier and Trainline. His debut non-fiction book, The Trainspotter's Notebook (2022), captures some of his most memorable trainspotting experiences across the country.

James Engelsman

Car enthusiast, reviewer and content creator, James Engelsman spends his time attempting to remind the world that cars can be so much more than just A to B transport.

After joining Thomas Holland as a co-host on the popular car YouTube channel Throttle House eight years ago, using humour as a defence mechanism, James has been an integral part of the journey to over 4.5 million subscribers across their channels.

Thanks to misguided inspiration from embellished Hollywood biopics, James' university and earlier working years consisted of a tirade of failed entrepreneurs. Fortunately, the eleventh attempt gathered enough momentum for him to move his life from London, UK to Canada and ultimately, years later, join Thomas in co-creating one of the largest digital automotive media outlets in the world.

Thomas Holland

Thomas Holland is an automotive journalist and content creator from Canada. He and his co-host James Engelsman have spent most of the last decade travelling around the world, driving and reviewing cars for their YouTube channel Throttle House.

Known for high quality car films, sketch comedy, and long-distance adventures, Throttle House has over 75 million yearly viewers on YouTube alone.

Thomas has a degree in history, and is a former track driving instructor, but now is a amateur racing driver, who specialises in driving and reviewing high performance vehicles. His primary goal is to share the experience of driving the world's most exciting cars, in an effort to hopefully inspire the next generation of car enthusiasts.

He also has a passion for classic Italian cars and spends his spare time working on and modifying his classic Alfa Romeos. Although, predictably, he spends more time fixing them than he does driving them.
