KERRY GODLIMAN AND NINA SINGH TAKE ON THE ICONIC ROLES OF DALZIEL AND PASCOE IN ITV AND BRITBOX REIMAGINING OF THE BELOVED SERIES

The series has been commissioned by BritBox in an arrangement with All3Media International with ITV as the UK partner

Kerry Godliman and Nina Singh are to star as Dalziel and Pascoe in a fresh and contemporary reimagining of the beloved British detective series, based on the books by Reginald Hill.

The series centres on the relationship between seasoned Detective Inspector Andrea Dalziel, played by Kerry Godliman (Trigger Point, Spinal Tap: The End Continues, Whitstable Pearl, After Life, Save Me) and the newly qualified, by the book perfectionist Detective Sergeant Paige Pascoe played by Nina Singh (Art Detectives, Virdee).

Despite their clashing methods, Dalziel and Pascoe work together to form a formidable partnership that is underscored by humour, heart and humanity.

Commented Kerry Godliman:

"I'm so chuffed to be playing the assertively charming Detective Inspector Andrea Dalziel. It's a juicy role as she's such an interesting personality - accomplished at her job, warm, but also direct to the point of being abrasive. Weary and warm hearted. Lots to get my teeth into! I'm looking forward to working with the team at West Road Pictures, ITV and BritBox as we reimagine Dalziel and Pascoe to a new audience."

Commented Nina Singh:

"It's an absolute honour to be playing Pascoe to Kerry Godliman's Dalziel. I find Kerry hilarious, so I know at times I'll struggle not to be laughing. Colette Kane and the writing team have incorporated humour so well into the scripts at the same time as keeping you constantly guessing what'll happen next - in true Dalziel and Pascoe form."

As UK partner for Dalziel and Pascoe, ITV's Director of Drama, Polly Hill, and Commissioner and Head of Scripted Comedy, Nana Hughes have worked with BritBox on the series. Nana is overseeing the production of the series on behalf of ITV, and the series will be produced by All3Media's West Road Pictures (Ridley, Hollington Drive, Blood).

Commented Nana Hughes:

"Dalziel and Pascoe with a female-led cast is what caught our eye on this one. Kerry Godliman and Nina Singh will bring a fresh perspective to the series."

Reginald Hill's books were previously adapted into a highly successful television series, starring Warren Clarke and Colin Buchanan, which aired on British television for 12 series from 1996 - 2007.

Dalziel and Pascoe is co-created for television by Colette Kane (Department Q, Vera) and Daisy Martey (Vikings: Valhalla). Other writers on the series include new writing duo Chris Ryden and Jon Rowe, and Danusia Samal (Gangs of London, Bodies).

The drama will air on ITV and STV and be available for streaming on ITVX and STV Player.

Commented Jonathan Fisher, Managing Director of West Road Pictures:

"We are delighted to reveal Kerry Godliman and Nina Singh as our leading duo in this contemporary reimagining of Dalziel and Pascoe. We feel sure that they will breathe new life into these iconic characters.

The 6-part series will be directed by Isher Sahota (Run Away, Missing You), and produced by Juliet Charlesworth (After The Flood, Happy Valley). Executive producers for West Road Pictures are Jonathan Fisher, Ellie Birnie, and Ingrid Goodwin. Colette Kane will act as lead writer and Executive Producer.

Dalziel and Pascoe will begin filming in the spring of 2026 in the North of England.

All3Media International will be responsible for the wider global distribution of the drama.

West Road Pictures is the production company launched by Jonathan Fisher in 2019. An All3Media company, West Road are the producers of Ridley for ITV, starring Adrian Dunbar. Since launching, West Road have also produced the award-winning Blood, Penance, and Hollington Drive. Dalziel and Pascoe is West Road's fifth drama commission.

Dalziel and Pascoe is produced in association with All3Media International, who are the drama's global partner.
