· NBC will air Nintendo and Illumination's "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" on Saturday, March 21 at 8 p.m.
· The blockbuster film, released by Universal Pictures in April 2023, shattered box-office records and earned more than $1.3 billion worldwide.
· In Nintendo and Illumination's "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," Brooklyn plumbers Mario and his brother Luigi are transported down a mysterious pipe and wander into a magical new world. But when the brothers are separated, Mario embarks on an epic quest to find Luigi, with the help of Mushroom Kingdom resident Toad and the strong-willed ruler of the Kingdom, Princess Peach.
· Universal will release Nintendo and Illumination's "The Super Mario Galaxy Movie," in theaters worldwide beginning April 1.
· The new film stars Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black Keegan-Michael Key, Benny Safdie, Kevin Michael Richardson and Brie Larson.
· Both the 2023 film and "The Super Mario Galaxy Movie" are produced by Chris Meledandri of Illumination and Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo. "The Super Mario Galaxy Movie" is directed by returning filmmakers Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, from a screenplay by returning screenwriter Matthew Fogel, with Brian Tyler returning to compose the score.
