Netflix Unveils First Look at New Danish Thriller 'The Secret Woman' - Premiering on August 28

Today, Netflix announced the launch date and first look of the Danish thriller The Secret Woman, from the creative team behind Loving Adults.
The twist-filled thriller centers on Louise Andersen, whose peaceful life on a Norwegian island is shattered when a stranger insists she is actually Helene Söderberg, a woman who vanished from Denmark three years ago. Forced to question her identity, she leaves the man she loves to uncover the truth about her mysterious past.
The cast is led by Natalie Madueño (Darkness: Those Who Kill), Claes Bang (The Square, Dracula), Pål Sverre Hagen (Let Go, Exit), and Stina Ekblad (The Food Club), among others.
The Secret Woman will launch globally on Netflix on August 28, 2026.
ABOUT THE SECRET WOMAN
Synopsis: Louise Andersen lives a quiet life on the Norwegian island of Hidra with her partner, Joachim, where she runs a small café. One summer day, their peace is shattered when a stranger insists she is not Louise at all, but Helene Söderberg - a woman who vanished from Denmark three years earlier. She discovers not only that she is married, but also that she is the mother of a young boy. Driven to uncover the truth about her past, Louise leaves Joachim and the life she knows to seek out her family and discover what really happened on the night she disappeared. As she delves deeper into the mystery as Helene, she uncovers a shocking truth that turns her world upside down.
