This will be the first time that a network has ever broadcast three NBA Tip-Off games. The news was announced live on TODAY this morning.

NBC SPORTS' 2026 NBA TIP-OFF SCHEDULE

Date Time (ET) Matchup Platforms

Tues., Oct. 20

3 p.m. Boston Celtics at Detroit Pistons NBC, Peacock

6:30 p.m. NBA Showtime NBC, Peacock

7 p.m. Philadelphia 76ers at New York Knicks NBC, Peacock

9:30 p.m. Oklahoma City Thunder at San Antonio Spurs NBC, Peacock

The Knicks bring back their championship core of Brunson, 2026 NBA All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns, playoff hero OG Anunoby, and veteran leaders Josh Hart and Mikal Bridges after leading the franchise to its first title in 53 years. New York had a dominant run to the Larry O'Brien Trophy, going a blistering 16-3 throughout the four rounds of the playoffs, including consecutive sweeps over Philadelphia and Cleveland in the Eastern Conference Semifinals and Finals, respectively, before defeating the San Antonio Spurs in five games.

Philadelphia boasts a brand-new lineup featuring James, who chose to sign with the 76ers after eight seasons with the Lakers, and Brown, who was traded from Boston to the team's historic conference rival in arguably the most stunning move of the offseason. The duo complete an astonishing 76ers starting five that also features 2023 Kia NBA MVP Joel Embiid, 2026 Kia All-NBA Third Team selection Tyrese Maxey, and Kia All-NBA Rookie First Team selection VJ Edgecombe.

Following 76ers-Knicks, Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder visit Wembanyama and the Spurs in a rematch of the seven-game Western Conference Finals, which saw San Antonio earn their first NBA Finals berth in 12 years. "Game 8" of the Western Conference Finals will tip-off from Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas, at 9:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. After a legendary back-and-forth seven-game series, Thunder-Spurs has quickly grown into one of the league's fiercest rivalries.

The 2026-27 NBA season will begin with a matinee matchup featuring a battle between the top two seeds in last season's Eastern Conference Playoffs, as six-time NBA All-Star Tatum and the Celtics visit 2026 Kia All-NBA First Team selection Cunningham and the Pistons from Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Mich., at 3 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. Cunningham leads a Pistons squad that was one of only three teams, including the Thunder and Spurs, to win 60+ regular season games last season. Tatum, coming off a season that saw the perennial All-Star make a stunning comeback after a 2025 Achilles injury, heads a revamped Celtics team that traded for nine-time NBA All-Star Paul George, in the same trade that sent five-time NBA All-Star Jaylen Brown to the 76ers, and added 2026 NBA champion Mitchell Robinson from the Knicks in free agency this offseason.

NBC Sports' Tip-Off tripleheader boasts an impressive group of NBA stars, featuring:

· The reigning Kia NBA MVP and Kia Clutch Player of the Year (Gilgeous-Alexander), Kia Defensive Player of the Year (Wembanyama), Sixth Man of the Year (Keldon Johnson, San Antonio), Coach of the Year (Joe Mazzulla, Boston), Executive of the Year (Brad Stevens, Boston); and NBA Finals MVP (Brunson).

· 11 2026 NBA All-Stars: Brown, Brunson, Cunningham, Jalen Duren (Detroit), De'Aaron Fox (San Antonio), Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren (Oklahoma City), James, Maxey, Towns, and Wembanyama.

· Eight members of the three 2026 Kia All-NBA Teams (more than half of the 15 Kia All-NBA selections): Gilgeous-Alexander, Cunningham, Wembanyama (First Team); Brown, Brunson (Second Team); Duren, Holmgren, Maxey (Third Team).

· Six members of the two 2026 Kia NBA All-Defensive Teams (more than half of the 10 Kia All-Defensive Team selections): Holmgren, Wembanyama, Ausar Thompson (Detroit), Derrick White (Boston, First Team); Anunoby, Cason Wallace (Oklahoma City, Second Team).
