Step into a Hidden World of Temple Secrets and Covert Missions in 'The Fixers', Premiering September 17

Set in a distinctive Taiwanese underworld shaped by temple culture, the action-comedy series The Fixers premieres globally on September 17, only on Netflix. Co-directed by Hung Tzu-hsuan (billion-grossing film 96 Minutes) and Henri Chang (Copycat Killer), the series features an all-star ensemble including Christopher Lee, Shou Lou, Regina Lei, Fu Meng-po, Tou Chung-hua, Chang Yung-cheng, Kelly Lin, and more.

The newly unveiled teaser offers a first look at the mysterious Fixers organization and its morally ambiguous brand of justice, operating in the space between the criminal underworld and the law. It opens with Felix Chiang (Christopher Lee), a debt-ridden gangster caught cheating at cards in an underground casino, launching into an adrenaline-fueled chase through a traditional market.

Chiang, who had hoped to leave the underworld behind, is instead pulled deeper when he is recruited by Ching He to become a Fixer. He finds himself partnered with Louis Hsueh (Shou Lou), an arrogant political scion. Initially at odds, the mismatched pair gradually forge a life-or-death bond as they take on covert assignments that blur the lines between crime, power and the law. A third operative, Mina Shen (Regina Lei), makes a striking entrance in the teaser, trading blows with Hsueh in a stylish elevator brawl that showcases the series' standout action.

The Fixers' biggest draw is its original underground world built on Taiwan's traditional temple culture. The centuries-old, incense-filled Ching He Temple serves as the Fixers' base, with a fully realized system for assignments, task distribution, internal hierarchy and coded signals.

Director Hung said he hopes audiences will come away believing this hidden world could truly exist. "After watching The Fixers, I hope viewers will find themselves looking for a secret entrance to Ching He Temple whenever they visit a temple and wondering whether lighting incense sticks might bring someone to help with their troubles." Producer Lim added that temples are not only places of faith, but also informal centers of social order for people from all walks of life - making them a natural, distinctly Taiwanese setting for the Fixers' organization.

The three leads are equally excited for audiences to discover the series. Lee said, "I've been looking forward to sharing the show with audiences since filming wrapped. Felix Chiang is a layered character, and I'm excited for viewers to see the chemistry between Lou, Lei and me." Lou added that The Fixers is more than a high-octane action series: "Every character has their own perspective and difficult choices to make. No one is simply good or evil." For Lei, the role fulfilled a long-held ambition to perform action scenes while allowing her to explore unfamiliar territory: "I hope audiences will enjoy Mina Shen and discover a different, compelling side of her."

When trouble strikes, who do you call? Discover the secret world of The Fixers, premiering September 17, only on Netflix.
