ADVANTAGE PLAYER (HBO, New!) - Riley Keough is attached to star in a proposed drama from Will Graham at the network inspired by real-life advantage player Gina Fiore: "In Advantage Player, written by Graham who will serve as showrunner, when a brilliant misfit (Keough) discovers the secret to beating casinos at their own game, she's pulled into a world of obsessive outlaws who all live by one rule: the only way to beat the system is to outplay the people who built it." Said trio will executive produce alongside Gina Gammell, Tonia Davis, Max Linsky, Michael Ellenberg, and Christina Malach for Felix Culpa, Invitation Media, and Media Res. (Deadline.com, 8/14)
AMERICAN BLUE (HBO Max) - The streamer has passed on the Milo Ventimiglia-led cop drama pilot from writer Jeremy Carver and director David Ayer. Producer Warner Bros. Television plans to shop the project elsewhere. (Deadline.com, 8/13)
ASCENT/CLUELESS/NEWLYWEDS/ROCKFORD FILES, THE/SWAT EXILES (Various) - The aforementioned projects are among the latest TV productions to be awarded tax credits from the state of California's Film and Television Tax Credit Program. They'll receive $21 million, $16 million, $5.8 million, $21 million, and $16 million, respectively. (Variety.com, 8/10)
BISHOP (Amazon) - The Joel Kinnaman-led drama has added Gerardo Celasco as Ricardo Cruz, Alex Breaux as Louis Davies, Ally Ioannides as Mountain Girl, and Steven Yaffee as Cain, all recurring roles. No other details were given. (Deadline.com, 8/11)
DELI BOYS (Hulu) - The Onyx Collective series has been canceled after two seasons. (Deadline.com, 8/14)
GAIJIN (Hulu, New!) - Joseph Gordon-Levitt is on track to star in a proposed drama at the streamer: "Inspired by Ivan Orkin's real-life story that led to the creation of Ivan Ramen, Gaijin is about an American culinary school dropout who spontaneously moves to Tokyo with his young son following his wife's death. Desperate to maintain a connection to his wife's home country, Ivan (Gordon-Levitt) plunges headfirst into life in Japan. He moves in with his in-laws, whom he barely knows and barely likes, and takes action on a long-held dream of opening his own restaurant - in this case, a ramen shop. Through hardships, culture clashes and humorous moments lost in translation, Ivan will, over the course of the series, take on the Herculean task of building a business and rebuilding a life." Shannon Goss is spearheading the project with Orkin, Gordon-Levitt, Jared Geller, Mark Fasano, Matthew Goldberg, Mike Blutstein, and Andrew Gottlieb also executive producing for Hit Record, Nickel City Pictures, and Lionsgate Television. HARRY POTTER AND THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE (HBO) - Nicholas Hoult has signed onto the series' second season as Gilderoy Lockhart, "a major character in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, who was portrayed in the second movie by Kenneth Branagh." (Deadline.com, 8/11)
LOVE THEY NADER (Freeform) - Former showrunner Rachel Tung has renewed her development deal with Freeform siblings ABC and Hulu. (Variety.com, 8/10)
MARSHALS (CBS) - Marque Richardson will recur on the upcoming season as Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrick Burns. Additionally, Morgan Lindholm will return as Maddie, "the bartender at the local watering hole, Bullet 'N Barrel, and Cal's (Logan Marshall-Green) estranged daughter." (Deadline.com, 8/12)
MEMORY OF A KILLER (FOX) - Boris Kodjoe will recur on the new season as Tré, the "Fourth Musketeer": "Tré is Angelo (Patrick Dempsey), Dutch's (Michael Imperioli), and Angelo's brother Michael (Richard Clarkin) closest childhood friend. A high-level executive at a large company, he's the only one out of the four who "broke good," and is now being honored for saving their childhood community center." (Deadline.com, 8/11)
OFF CAMPUS (Amazon) - Shay Rudolph has been cast in the second season as Summer Di Laurentis. (@offcampusonprime, 8/13)

PROTECTIVE CUSTODY (Apple TV) - Amy Sedaris has joined the Ben Stiller/Benicio Del Toro-led comedy series in a yet-to-be-revealed role. (Deadline.com, 8/13)
RETRIEVALS, THE (Netflix) - Emilia Jones will topline the upcoming drama as Gabby Clemente, "a New Haven bartender and student teacher whose life is upended by her traumatic egg retrieval surgery. Upon discovering that a nurse at the clinic was stealing vast amounts of fentanyl, Gabby seeks out other victims and leads a groundbreaking legal battle against Yale University." (Deadline.com, 8/13)
SCRUBS (REBOOT SERIES) (ABC) - Keyla Monterroso Mejia will recur on the show's second season as Mimi, "Turk's (Donald Faison) new surgical nurse. A bit quirky with some sass, she is a high-energy and loyal assisting hand for the surgeons." (Deadline.com, 8/14)
SEINFELD (Various) - Netflix and Paramount have renewed their licensing agreements for the iconic series from Sony Pictures Television, which were set to expire on October 1. In a five-year deal, "Seinfeld" will continue to be available globally on Netflix but only exclusive in the U.S. and Canada. And in a three-year pact, Paramount retains the exclusive basic cable rights in the U.S., covering Comedy Central, TV Land, etc. (Deadline.com, 8/12)
STRIKE FORCE (CBS, New!) - Jesse Lee Soffer is attached to star in a proposed drama from Matt Olmstead at the network: "Written by Olmstead, Strike Force centers on a battle-tested DEA agent (Soffer) who returns home to Kansas City to lead a multi-agency strike force targeting the violent criminals now trying to exploit America's heartland." The Eye has commissioned a development room for the project, which they'll executive produce alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed for Jerry Bruckheimer Television and CBS Studios. SWAT: EXILES (Starz) - The spin-off series has been picked up for a second season. (@swathqtv, 8/10)
TASK (HBO) - The show's second season has cast the following recurring roles: Stephanie Sigman as Carmen Belandria, "a no-nonsense, fiercely loyal mother and wife of Miguel"; Alaíde as Maria Delgado, "a sharp and resourceful cartel escapee fighting to reunite with her sister"; Rocío Guzmán as Yvonne Delgado, "an innocent yet fearless immigrant farm worker determined to protect her family"; and Regina Nava as Fernanda, "a resilient and stubborn immigrant mushroom farm worker." THUNDER ROAD (AMC) - Jake Manley will round out the cast of the NASCAR drama as Zak Farley: "With hill country roots and dangerous charm, Zak has been raised since birth to carry on the Farley racing dynasty, a thorn in the Whitlock family's side. He'll wreck any driver to gain an advantage, but away from the track Cassie Whitlock (West Duchovny) has found his soft spot - putting them both in a very different kind of jeopardy." TRIAL OF LOUISE WOODWARD, THE (HBO) - Sagar Radia will star opposite Meghann Fahy in the limited series as Sunil and Deborah Eappen, "the parents of eight-month-old victim Matthew Eappen," respectively. (Deadline.com, 8/12)
UNTITLED DAKOTA FANNING PROJECT (Apple TV) - Louisa Krause is set to star alongside Dakota Fanning in the upcoming drama. No character details however were given. (Deadline.com, 8/10)
UNTITLED LINCOLN LAWYER SPIN-OFF PROJECT (Netflix, New!) - Cobie Smulders is set to be the focus of a proposed spin-off series in which she would continue in her role of Artemisia "Emi" Finch, Mickey Haller's half-sister: "In the upcoming Season 5, Mickey Haller's (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) world is upended when the half-sister he never knew existed, Emi (Smulders), comes to him with a plea to help free a wrongfully convicted woman, a case he takes on, determined to set right an enormous miscarriage of justice." Ted Humphrey, Dailyn Rodriguez and Matthew J. Lieberman are all behind the project with A+E Studios producing. (Deadline.com, 8/12)
UNTITLED POWER RANGERS PROJECT (Disney+) - The streamer is not moving forward with the live-action series based on the Hasbro property. Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz were behind the project, which was set up at 20th Television. (Deadline.com, 8/13)
UNTITLED YOUNG LEE SHAW PREQUEL SERIES (Apple TV) - Connie Nielsen and Stana Katic are the latest bound for the "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters" prequel series. Character details were not released. (Deadline.com, 8/10)
