6666 (Paramount Network) - Taylor Sheridan has announced the "Yellowstone" spin-off, first announced in February 2021, is not moving forward. (Deadline.com, 8/18)
AUDACITY, THE (AMC) - Usman Ally has joined the cast of the show's second season as Byron Zandani, "a senior Silicon Valley lawyer, who is constantly trying to put out proverbial fires and to navigate ethically ambiguous decisions. Composed and thoughtful, he's worn down by the relentless drive of tech CEOs." (Deadline.com, 8/20)
CHICAGO FIRE (NBC) - Matthew Daddario will join the cast of the series' 15th season as a firefighter candidate. No other character details were given. (Deadline.com, 8/21)
CHICKS (Hulu) - Jason Schmidt, Julia Lester, and Piper Runge have joined the cast of the drama pilot, which has also added Max Winkler as director and executive producer. Schmidt will play Sally, Jr., "a finance bro with the heart of a golden retriever"; with Lester as Sinead, "who is freshly out of prison for a handful of OUIs (the Massachusetts equivalent of a DUI)"; and Runge as Lori, "a capable, whip-smart nursing student who, after a lifetime of ticking boxes, might be ready to select 'none of the above.'" DUNGEON CRAWLER CARL (Peacock) - Eric Heisserer has signed on as co-showrunner of the book-turned-TV series alongside Christopher Yost. (Deadline.com, 8/21)
GENTLEMEN, THE (Netflix) - Meghan Markle "has had preliminary conversations to join" the show's third season. (Deadline.com, 8/21)
GHETTOSIDE (Netflix, New!) - Steven Zaillian and Richard Price are behind a six-episode series in the works at the streamer. No other specifics were given about the project other than the 2015 non-fiction book of the same name, subtitled "A True Story of Murder in America," by Jill Leovy is being used as source material. Zaillian and Price have completed multiple scripts and will executive produce alongside Garrett Basch. (Deadline.com, 8/18)
GOD OF WAR (Amazon) - Dave Bautista is officially set to topline the video game-turned-TV series, succeeding Ryan Hurst. (Deadline.com, 8/20)
GOOD AMERICAN FAMILY (Hulu) - The streamer has commissioned a second season of the now anthology series, focusing on Lorena Bobbitt for its second installment: "Inspired by the ripped-from-the-headlines story of Lorena and John Bobbitt, a Virginia couple who incited a media circus that treated trauma as entertainment, launched a thousand dirty jokes and ignited a gender war." HEADLANDS HOUSE, THE (Netflix, New!) - Emmy winner Colman Domingo is attached to star in limited series for the streamer from Cameron B. Dupont: "In it, a marriage begins to fracture after a gay couple moves into their dream home, only to discover that its prior residents were brutally murdered on the property - and that their own lives may now be in danger, too." The pair will also executive produce alongside Raúl Domingo and Patrick Moran for AMC Studios, Edith Productions, and PKM Productions. (Deadline.com, 8/20)
HOUSE OF CROWNS (Amazon, New!) - Anna Todd's upcoming novel is being developed for TV by Amazon MGM Studios: "House of Crowns is set at an elite boarding school in Switzerland where royalty and world leaders send their children. When a poor outsider there on scholarship and a gilded heiress with dangerous secrets fall into a forbidden love, it could shatter them both." Elinor Cook is spearheading the project with Todd, Jennifer Gibgot, Andrew Panay, Lena Roklin, and Will Gould also executive producing for Ethea Entertainment, Luber Roklin Entertainment, and Moonage Pictures. INDUSTRY (HBO) - The show's final season has tapped Dianna Agron as Skip Binksy, "CFO of a wellness tech company"; Cary Elwes as Padgett Stillman, "an investor"; Sam Riley as Solomon Kerr, "an elusive British businessman who made his fortune in Silicon Valley"; Jessica Brown Findlay as Marina St. Clair, "a family friend of Sir Henry Muck"; Bally Gill as Nikesh Shah, "a charistmatic left-wing politician"; Luke Manley as Stevie Delmonte, "an execution trader"; and Eduard Poliakov as Olexij Kovalchuk, "also a trader." KILDARE (Netflix, New!) - Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke are developing an "Outer Banks" prequel series at the streamer which will "explore the origins of Kildare's deep social divide in a prequel series set 20 years before the events in the popular YA series." (Deadline.com, 8/19)
LINEKER (Amazon, New!) - Footballer-turned-broadcaster Gary Lineker will be the focus of a new documentary series at the streamer: "A four-part miniseries, Lineker, will look at his 50-year career, which has mostly recently seen him become a media and entertainment business owner through his successful podcasting operation Goalhanger. It will also explore how he went from his 'Mr Nice Guy' reputation on the pitch to becoming an outspoken and often divisive character in modern Britain." Nat Lippiett and Dan Grabiner are among the executive producers for Orchard Studios. (Deadline.com, 8/20)
PITT, THE (HBO Max) - The upcoming third season has cast Stephen Chang as Mitch Connors, "an Emergency Department patient"; Barry Clifton as David "Bear" Burton, "an Emergency Department patient"; Chris Diamantopoulos as CMO Dr. Asher Grossman, "CMO of PTMC"; Lawrence Kao as Harold Joslyn, "an Emergency Department patient"; Brent Sexton as Daryl Oates, "an Emergency Department patient"; JB Tadena as Dr. Reed Thomas, "a PTMC Physician"; and Hannah Ware as Charlotte Boyle, "an Emergency Department patient." PRISON BREAK (REBOOT SERIES) (Hulu) - The revival series has added Sam Trammell as Jarrod Boggs, "a powerful figure with deep roots in West Virginia"; Sean Bridgers as Hollis, "a devoted family man trying to rebuild his life"; Kerry Bishé as Mary Smith, "a mysterious and dangerous female inmate"; Robin Weigert as Chaplain Bannon, "the prison chaplain who counsels inmates in need"; Jean Louisa Kelly as Margaret, "the new matriarch of a power-brokering political family"; and Chris Coy as Mule, "a dangerous and unpredictable inmate." RUPAUL'S DRAG RACE/RUPAUL'S DRAG RACE: UNTUCKED/RUPAUL'S DRAG RACE ALL STARS/RUPAUL'S DRAG RACE ALL STARS: UNTUCKED (MTV/Paramount+) - The reality franchise's flagship series will return for a 19th season, while "All Stars" is due back for a 12th installment.
