Kasper Bajon's New Series 'The Law of Beasts' Starring Agnieszka Grochowska, Agnieszka Żulewska and Michał Pawlik, Premieres November 18 on Netflix

Directed by Kasper Bajon, The Law of Beasts is a four-part drama exploring the limits of friendship and justice. In 1988, a series of child murders drives two friends apart. Twenty-five years later, as the convicted man is about to be released, both women must confront the lasting impact of the choices they made in the past. The series is inspired by the true events that led to the introduction of what became known as Poland's "Beast Law."

In 1988, Poland is shaken by the murder of four boys. Major Anna Bersz (Agnieszka Grochowska) leads the investigation, while her friend, psychiatrist Agnieszka Grabska (Agnieszka Żulewska), is tasked with assessing the sanity of the suspect, Mariusz Trynkiewicz (Michał Pawlik). With time running out and a system that leaves no room for doubt, the women make a decision that ends their friendship and affects the rest of their lives.

In 2014, the convicted man is due to be released. Anna, now a public official, and Agnieszka, a renowned expert in psychiatry, must revisit the case and the decision that divided them years earlier. Once again, they must consider how to protect society without abandoning the principles the rule of law is built on.

While inspired by true events, at its heart this is a story about people who, in serving the state and its institutions, are forced to make impossible choices. It explores what happens when the law, our sense of justice and the need to keep society safe cannot be reconciled, says Kasper Bajon, the series' director and co-writer.

About The Law of Beasts:
