AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER (Netflix) - Executive producer Christine Boylan has signed a first-look deal with Paramount Television Studios. (Deadline.com, 8/31)
BIG MISTAKES (Netflix) - The show's sophomore run has added Poorna Jagannathan as Dréa and Lorenzo De Moor as Leo. No other character details were given. (Deadline.com, 8/31)
CON LAW (ABC, New!) - Joey Falco has sold a new legal drama to the Alphabet: "In the series, a brilliant, high-powered corporate attorney is wrongfully convicted of murdering her husband, losing everything - her freedom, her career, her daughter. Exonerated six years later, she joins a scrappy Brooklyn defense firm and uses the ruthless skills that once protected billion-dollar corporations to fight for others vulnerable of being screwed over by the system - all while searching for the truth behind the crime that ruined her life." Jordan Cerf will also executive produce for Linden Productions and 20th Television. (Deadline.com, 8/31)
CRIMINAL MINDS: EVOLUTION (Paramount+) - Wayne Brady and Selma Blair will both guest star on an upcoming episode of the series: "The BAU investigates a series of murders in Los Angeles targeting people tied to the skincare industry. The UnSub has an especially specific M.O. involving a chemically altered spa treatment that dissolves his victims' skin. While the team drills down, Tyler Green stays behind with his nephew, whose troubles with his nemesis escalate." No other character details were given. (Deadline.com, 9/2)
CRIMINAL (Amazon) - A former production assistant on the upcoming drama "has sued Amazon MGM Studios and Big Indie Pictures, accusing the companies of turning a blind eye to a hostile work environment created by showrunner Ed Brubaker." (THR.com, 9/3)
DEXTER: RESURRECTION (Paramount+) - David Zayas will reprise his role of Angel Batista in a yet-to-be-revealed capacity for the show's second season. (Deadline.com, 9/2)
ELSBETH (CBS) - Nicole Scherzinger, Nicholas Braun, Jemima Kirke, and OG Anunoby are among the initial guest stars set for the show's fourth season. Scherzinger will appear as Serena Collyer, "a popular and highly paid relationship counselor whose torrid affair with an old love leads to murder." Braun then will play Jeremy Perrick, "the son of a famous American playwright who has spent his whole life in the shadow of his celebrated father"; with Kirke as Winter Redgrave, "the sleek CEO of a successful "lifestyle" brand whose world is perfectly curated until her sister threatens a corporate takeover"; and New York Knicks star Anunoby as himself in a cameo appearance. FIRE COUNTRY/SHERIFF COUNTRY (CBS) - The fifth episode of each series this season will crossover on November 6 as part of a two-hour event. (Deadline.com, 9/3)
GARGOYLES (Disney+) - The live-action take on the famed animated series is no longer moving forward at the streamer. (Variety.com, 8/31)
GREY'S ANATOMY (ABC) - James Wolk will recur at least four episodes of the upcoming season as Seth Norton, "a handsome, arrogant surgeon-turned-businessman whose focus on the bottom line never wavers. He owns Olympic Regent Health, a luxury care medical center where patients pay out of pocket for elevated care." (Deadline.com, 9/4)
HARRY POTTER AND THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE (HBO) - Billy Barratt, Lenny Rush, and Bonnie Hill are bound for the series' second season. Barratt will play young Tom Riddle; with Rush as loyal house-elf Dobby; and Hill as Ron's sister, Ginny Weasley, in a recasting. (Deadline.com, 9/4)
IMPOSTER (HBO, New!) - Kalos Chu has sold a new drama script to the network, with an option for a writers' room: "Written and executive produced by Chu, Imposter is a dark mystery that follows an outsider entering his freshman year at an elite university." Lauren LeFranc and Rachel Jacobs will also executive produce for their Acid and Tender Productions. (Deadline.com, 8/31)
KANE CHRONICLES, THE (Disney+, New!) - Rick Riordan's trilogy of novels set in the same universe as "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" is being developed for TV at the streamer: "When their father unleashes the god of chaos and vanishes, the estranged Kane siblings must master their inherited Egyptian magic, forge unlikely alliances, and rescue their father before warring gods can wreak havoc on our modern world." Riordan himself will co-create the series alongside Angela Robinson with Rebecca Riordan, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, and Jeremy Bell likewise executive producing for 20th Television and The Gotham Group. The project was previously developed as a feature film for Netflix. (Deadline.com, 9/3)
LIMITED TIME OFFER (ABC, New!) - The Alphabet has commissioned a new competition series from VaynerWatt: "The series is an arched competition show where 10 pop-culture food junkies compete every week to create iconic brands, with the winning product available to the public the day after the episode airs." Gary Vaynerchuk and Eric Wattenberg are behind the project with Sam Brown, Tim Hackbardt and Nema Vand also executive producing. It's understood the series will have two full-time judges with one guest judge per episode. (Deadline.com, 9/3)
LOVE OVERBOARD (Hulu) - The Alex Cooper-produced dating series has been canceled after one season. (Deadline.com, 8/31)
PRISON BREAK (REBOOT SERIES) (Hulu) - The revival has tapped the following actors to recur: Noah Emmerich as Callum Faulls, "Jackson's (Lukas Gage) father, a highly respected West Virginia power broker"; Catfish Jean as Big Country, "an intimidating member of a prison gang"; Augie Duke as Iris, "a prisoner who shares a deep maternal bond with Cheyenne (Kelli Berglund)"; Brad Beyer as Captain David Ryan, "a corrections officer captain"; Greg Vrotsos as Dempsey, "a prison guard with a strong sense of loyalty"; Daniel David Stewart as Cody, "a new convict unprepared for life in prison"; and Michael Mosley as Maynard Gibbs, "a by-the-book lieutenant suspicious of Cassidy (Emily Browning)." PROTECTIVE CUSTODY (Apple TV) - Samson Kayo and Sonny Valicenti have joined the cast of the Ben Stiller-led comedy in top secret roles. (Deadline.com, 9/2)
RAVENLOFT (Netflix, New!) - Writer John August and director Alfonso Cuarón are spearheading a live-action take on the "Dungeons & Dragons" realm at the streamer: "Described as a prestige fantasy series where adventure collides with gothic horror and tragic romance, Ravenloft and its Domains of Dread tackle adventure through character-driven stories of dark magic and supernatural intrigue. At its heart, the series follows the making of the vampire Darklord Strahd von Zarovich, whose story of power, love, obsession, and undead transformation charts his origins from tragic antihero to one of Dungeons & Dragons' most notorious villains." The project succeeds Netflix's previous effort "The Forgotten Realms," which is no longer moving forward. Gabriel Marano, Richard Schwartz, and Gaby Rodriguez will also executive produce for Hasbro Entertainment and Esperanto Filmoj. (Deadline.com, 9/3)
SPIDER-NOIR (Amazon/MGM+) - The Nicolas Cage-led series from Sony Pictures Television has been canceled after one season. Said report adds Amazon and Sony will focus on other "Spider-Man"-related projects in development, one of which is reportedly nearing a series order. (Deadline.com, 9/4)
TESTAMENTS, THE (Hulu) - Charlie Carrick's Commander Judd will return as a regular on the series' second season, which has also added Haley Wong as Prudence, "a dutiful and pregnant wife who will carve out a space for joy, even if doing so risks everything." (Deadline.com, 9/3)
THUNDER ROAD (AMC) - James Wolk will recur in six of the new NASCAR-themed drama's eight episodes as Jordan Brandt, "the husband of Laney Whitlock (Maggie Grace) - the oldest and smartest of Duane's children - and general counsel to her family's legendary racing team. He's the city's idea of what success looks like, but his father-in-law Duane (Dennis Quaid) still sees him as an outsider who married his way into money." (Deadline.com, 9/4)
TOMB RAIDER (Amazon) - The upcoming drama has been cited by Britain's Health and Safety Executive as breaching "UK safety laws during production at Shinfield Studios earlier this year." (Deadline.com, 9/1)
WHEEL OF FORTUNE (Syndication) - Announcer Jim Thornton has been fired after by producer Sony Pictures Television following an investigation into an incident which "involved him allegedly visiting a chatroom that is used by people with pedophilic thoughts." (Deadline.com, 9/4)
