"BIG BROTHER" CROWNS ITS SEASON 28 WINNER AND ANNOUNCES RENEWAL THROUGH SEASON 30 IN TONIGHT'S LIVE FINALE

Rick Devens Claims the $750,000 Grand Prize and Wins America's Favorite Player

In tonight's LIVE 90-minute BIG BROTHER finale (8:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, host Julie Chen Moonves revealed the jury votes and crowned SURVIVOR castaway and Macon, Ga., resident Rick Devens, 42, the winner of BIG BROTHER 28. The communications director won the $750,000 grand prize over fellow houseguest Taylor Brown who walked away with the $75,000 second place cash prize. Rick Devens was also voted America's Favorite Player by viewers and received the $50,000 cash prize.

After entering the game as an "Icon" alongside BIG BROTHER alum Angela Murray and SURVIVOR 45 winner Dee Valladares, Devens overcame his target status with two Head of Household wins, two Power of Veto wins and a BB Blockbuster victory, ultimately convincing the jury his high-risk gameplay deserved the grand prize. He is the first SURVIVOR Castaway to win BIG BROTHER.

CBS also announced during tonight's finale that BIG BROTHER will return for two more summers, renewing the series through Season 30, following a milestone 28th season that delivered 14.8 billion minutes watched, up +9% from last summer; averaged 5.1 million viewers in seven-day multiplatform viewing, up +8% year-over-year. The summer staple also ranked as the summer's most social program across all television, excluding sports; became the first primetime series ever to reach 1,000 original episodes; earned two Guinness World Records titles; and featured 52+ hours of original programming, the most in the franchise's 26-year history.

On Friday morning, Oct. 2 the BIG BROTHER season 28 winner Rick Devens will appear live on CBS MORNINGS (7:00-9:00 AM, ET/PT) to talk about his journey on the show.
