Highlights from the "Lost" press room:

Josh Holloway on how it feels for the show to be ending: "Bittersweet. As an actor of course I'm interested in playing other roles and experimenting with other things so that part is a bit exciting to possibly do something, a different role. But like I said it's bittersweet because it's going to be difficult to top this one. I've really been enjoying the exploration of this character throughout [the series] and it's going to be a sad thing to see it end."

Josh Holloway on if he's ever guessed any of the show's secrets: "The only thing I've gotten right is I thought the island moved. That's all I got right the entire six years. I remember saying that to Damon [Lindelof] and he got all weird with me, like - 'Oh-oh! Found something! Didn't I?' - and he ran off."

Josh Holloway on Sawyer's reaction to Juliet's death: "Wow, I think he's pretty destroyed so I think he's going to be back to all of that growth just got ripped away. So I think he's going to be a bit salty which I'm looking forward to. So I'm not really sure, all I know is he's destroyed and he's given up on life and having any positive lessons so watch out!"

Josh Holloway on if he has any theories about how the show will end: "Not really. Strangely enough, I let that go a long time ago. All I said to Damon was Sawyer should probably die saving a frog or something, something like ridiculous."

Josh Holloway on what needs to happen to Sawyer for his journey to be complete: "He needs to accept life as it is and not turn everything into, 'Yeah, I told you so.' That growth is going to have to settle in and not be forgotten just because of the tragedies that have happened. I hope that's his journey through this last season is to [go] from hate and negativity to finally some resolve in the end that it wasn't all for nothing. That's what I hope."

Josh Holloway on what Sawyer's redemption is/was: "I think [Juliet] was his redemption and now that's been ripped away. So I think he's starting over but with some growth he can't deny. So he won't really start over, he'll have to start over from that point. But she was his redemption. That was his only real, in his world, his only real shot at love that might work, not just a volatile love like him and Kate have but one that actually might [make him happy]... and now that's gone and he's gone."

Josh Holloway on if Sawyer and Kate will get back together: "I have no idea. Maybe that's towards the end. I hope they don't throw me right in there because that would be shallow. [Laughs.] But we'll see. I don't know. Maybe she'll bring him back around to wanting to live again, that's what I'm hoping."

Josh Holloway on if there's any significance between Juliet and Sawyer's relationship being played mostly off-screen: "I can tell you the significance of that as an actor was I was cussing like hell when I got those scenes. 'We have three scenes to make this work?' Like me and Kate got a few seasons to earn that relationship right, so we were really skeptical, Elizabeth and I both were like, 'Oh man, how we gonna do this?' We were both very nervous about it, about not having time to earn it and for the audience to buy it."

Josh Holloway on his early expectations for Sawyer: "I expected to be killed in the first season so I didn't even throw my boxes away. I'd buy a TV and put the box in the closet. So I was like, 'Okay, he's an ass and he'll be dead before the season's out.' That's was my expectation, it really was. So I fought hard to find his humanity."

Nestor Carbonell on the challenge of playing such a mysterious character: "My first episode was as a recruiter to get Juliet to come to the island. I ended up killing her ex-husband who was stopping her from leaving [for] the island... When I read the material I thought it'd be interesting if I didn't play him - I've got to convince her, so I can't tip her off that I've got some other surreptitious ideas, I've got to be genuine and honest and kind and probably have a good reason for doing this, for killing her ex-husband. So that was always my mantra was just don't play the villain, play him as a human being and to this day I don't really know if he's good or bad or evil or how much of him is good or how much of him is [evil]. Just when I've figured out the character, I open up another script and I say, 'Oh my God, now I'm completely thrown!'"

Nestor Carbonell on how critical Richard Alpert is in the final season: "It remains to be seen. I was shooting a scene last season... there was a scene where Terry O'Quinn comes to the island, returns after being lost for three years or unaccounted for three years. And I do the scene and the director says, 'Okay great.' [Richard] was happy to see [Locke]. And he says, 'Okay do another take but be a little more suspicious about his return.' I go, 'Alright.' So I do that... next week I open up the script and I discover why I was suspicious so they don't tell me anything."

Nestor Carbonell on Richard's apparent immortality: "I still don't know how old he is. Time is, he could be several hundred years old. Maybe his process of aging is so much slower that he's essentially the same person in the 30 years that we've seen him... I know I think as much as you guys know: that I've been around a number of years, I don't have a number on that; I don't seem to change much; and that I wear eyeliner permanently. [Laughs.]"

Jorge Garcia on how it feels for the show to be ending: "It's bittersweet knowing that this is the end and that there's going to be a lot of final moment things coming up, like the last time these two might have a scene together, the last time we're in this set, all that stuff, it's going to happen. It's going to be kind of a melancholy year I think but I think the story should be good. It's good to get out when you're still hungry."

Jorge Garcia on wrapping his head around some of "Lost's" more challenging aspects: "I did actually get some books and study a little bit on what these time travel theories are that they're basing everything on just to kind of better understand it myself. Because I knew, when I saw this was the subject matter that was going to be showing up that it'd be good to kind of know a little bit more about it."

Jorge Garcia on what "Lost" means to him: "[The show] has allowed me to do, you know, romantic scenes, action [scenes], I mean running away from an exploding plane wing is still like a huge highlight for my career. And driving the getaway van and there's been a lot of really cool stuff that I never really thought I'd be doing as an actor. All that's been just awesome."
