Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: FOX Dominates with "The Masked Singer" Stunt

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (4/1/20):

FOX (8.749 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.4, #1) overshadowed the competition on Wednesday with hour one of its "The Masked Singer" (8.312 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.3, #2) stunt and hour two of "The Masked Singer" (9.185 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.5, #1).

CBS (5.661 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #2) was a distant second with its mix of "Survivor: Winners at War" (8.150 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.6, #3), "Garth & Trisha: Live!" (5.653 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #6) and a repeat "SWAT" (3.181 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #13).

Next up was ABC (3.745 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3) with originals from "The Goldbergs" (4.443 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T4), "Schooled" (3.250 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T10), "Modern Family" (4.290 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T4) and "American Housewife" (3.139 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T7) plus "David Blaine: The Magic Way" (3.673 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T7).

Meanwhile, NBC (4.717 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) opted for repeats of "Chicago Med" (5.349 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T7), "Chicago Fire" (4.533 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T10) and "Chicago PD" (4.268 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T10).

And finally, The CW (0.871 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) closed out the night with encores of "Penn & Teller: Fool Us" (0.905 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T14) and a second "Penn & Teller: Fool Us" (0.836 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T14).

FOX (3.794 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T1) however shared in the demo honors with fresh installments from "Empire" (4.126 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) and "Star" (3.463 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T6).

Next up was CBS (4.805 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #3) and its lineup of "Survivor: Edge of Extinction" (7.305 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.5, #1), "Million Dollar Mile" (3.438 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T9) and "SEAL Team" (3.671 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T12).

Meanwhile, ABC (3.589 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #4) offered up its mix of "The Goldbergs" (4.379 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T3), "Schooled" (3.407 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T9), "Modern Family" (4.340 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T3), "Single Parents" (3.135 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T9) and "Whiskey Cavalier" (3.137 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T12).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.4/3; "Late Show," 0.4/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.3/5 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.1/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
