VH1 Primetime Ratings Skyrocket 33% in Second Quarter 2005

Strong Momentum Continues as VH1 Posts Its 12th Consecutive Quarter of Total Viewer Growth

NEW YORK, June 29 -- VH1's viewership continued to blossom this past spring as the music and pop culture network scored a 33% increase in its primetime ratings, averaging a .4 in the key 18-49 demo during the second quarter.

VH1 also keeps its growth streak alive by posting its 12th consecutive quarter of total viewer growth in the total viewing day.

In addition, this second quarter just ended is the most watched second quarter in VH1 history, averaging 559,000 total viewers P 2+ in primetime, a +8% increase compared to the same time period in 2004. For the total viewing day, VH1 averaged 342,000 total viewers P 2+, an 11% increase compared to the same time last year.*

VH1 debuted a number of new series and specials this past quarter including "Kept" starring Jerry Hall and "Strip Search," which chronicled the nationwide search for an all-male revue to debut in Las Vegas. Other top performers included the countdown series "100 Greatest Kid Stars" and final episodes of the VH1 original series "The Surreal Life 4" and "Strange Love."

VH1 also premiered a number of compelling music events including the return of "Storytellers" with new installments featuring Bruce Springsteen and Coldplay and the premiere of "Save The Music: A Concert to Benefit The VH1 Save The Music Foundation," featuring musical performances from Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Rob Thomas, Joss Stone, John Legend, Josh Groban, Donna Summer and Rod Stewart.
