For the second consecutive week, ABC ranked as the No. 1 network on Sunday night. During primetime, ABC topped its nearest competition by 5.0 million viewers (16.8 million vs. 11.8 million - CBS) and by 51% in Adults 18-49 (7.1/18 vs. 4.7/12 - Fox). ABC also won the evening among Adults 25-54 (7.9/18) and Adults 18-34 (6.2/17).

* ABC claimed the Top 3 TV shows on Sunday in the advertiser-coveted Adult 18-49 demographic, with "Desperate Housewives," "Grey's Anatomy" and "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." In addition, "Desperate Housewives" and "Grey's Anatomy" qualified as the two most-watched television shows of the night.

* ABC continued to post impressive gains over last year's Sunday night performance. Compared to the same night last year (which included the series debut of "Desperate Housewives"), ABC was up by 2.5 million viewers and by 29% in Adults 18-49 (14.3 million & 5.5/15 on 10/3/05).

"America's Funniest Home Videos" (7:00-8:00 p.m.)

The 16th season premiere of "America's Funniest Home Videos" was the top non-sports program in its time period among Adults 18-49 (2.6/8), as it competed against the NFL overrun on Fox.

* The venerable ABC video clip show was up by 2.2 million viewers (8.3 million vs. 6.1 million) and by 37% in Adults 18-49 (2.6/8 vs. 1.9/6) from its season premiere last year (on 9/26/04). In its season opener, "AFHV" marked the series' strongest performance since last April - since 4/24/05.

The broad skewing ABC unscripted show also took first-place in its time period among Adults 25-54 (6.5/15) and Kids 2-11 (3.3/12).

"Desperate Housewives" (9:00-10:00 p.m.)
