'LAW & ORDER: SVU,' 'ER' AND 'LAS VEGAS' ARE ALL TIME PERIOD WINNERS IN 18-49 AND OTHER KEY MEASURES

NBC IS UP 9 PERCENT IN 18-49 AND 8 PERCENT IN 18-34 THROUGH THE FIRST 21 WEEKS OF THE SEASON; AMONG THE MAJOR NETWORKS, IT'S THE MOST GROWTH IN 18-49 AND THE ONLY GROWTH IN 18-34

BURBANK, Calif. � February 13, 2007 � NBC averaged a 3.0 rating, 8 share in adults 18-49 and 8.8 million viewers overall for the week of February 5-11, according to "live plus same day" in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

This week, "Heroes" was the top-ranked freshman series in primetime's key demographic of adults 18-49, ranking #8 overall (tied with "Lost"; out of a total of 101 shows). "Heroes" was also the top-ranked freshman series in adults 25-54, adults 18-34 and other key demographics. Season-to-date, "Heroes" is the #1 new primetime series of the 2006-07 television season among adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and adults 18-34. Among adults 18-34, "Heroes" is the #4-ranked show on television season-to-date, tied with "Desperate Housewives" and trailing only the Tuesday and Wednesday editions of "American Idol" and "Grey's Anatomy."

For the first 21 weeks of the 2006-07 television season, NBC is showing the largest year-to-year gains in primetime's key demographic of adults 18-49. NBC is up 9 percent versus the same period last year (3.5 rating versus 3.2). In that same comparison, CBS is up 3 percent, Fox is flat and ABC is down 17 percent. Season-to-date in total viewers, NBC is up 4 percent versus the opening 21 weeks of the last season (9.7 million vs. 9.3 million). Fox is up 4 percent by that measure, CBS, is up 1 percent and ABC is down 14 percent.

Additionally, NBC is the only major network showing growth season-to-date among adults 18-34, up 8 percent versus the first 21 weeks of last season (2.8 vs. 2.6). In 18-34, CBS is now flat, Fox is down 3 percent and ABC is down 15 percent

Primetime averages for the week of February 5-11 in adults 18-49 were Fox (4.9/12), CBS (4.5/12), ABC (3.8/10), NBC (3.0/8), Univision (1.8/4), CW (1.3/3) and Telemundo (0.4/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (14.0 million), Fox (11.9 million), ABC (10.1 million), NBC (8.8 million), Univision (4.2 million), CW (3.4 million) and Telemundo (0.9 million).

NBC highlights for the week of February 5-11:

* On Monday, "Heroes" was the highest-rated show on television in primetime's key demographic of adults 18-49. "Heroes" topped rival drama "24" in the time period by 28 percent in 18-49, the widest margin of victory so far in the three weeks the two dramas have competed head-to-head in the time period.

* Also on Monday, "Deal or No Deal" won its time period decisively in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures. "Deal" topped its nearest rival, Fox's "Prison Break," by 22 percent in 18-49 and by 7.0 million viewers overall.

* On Tuesday, "Law & Order: SVU" won its time period in adults 18-49, total viewers and all key measures.

* On Thursday, "ER" won its hour decisively in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and adults 25-54, besting rival dramas "Shark" and "Men in Trees," which benefited from sizable lead-in advantages.

* On Friday, "Las Vegas" won its hour in adults 18-49 and other key measures, rolling its top 18-49 result since January 5.

* On Sunday, "Crossing Jordan" attracted its highest overall viewership so far this season, despite competition from the "Grammy Awards."

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of February 5-11:

On Monday, Feb. 5, at 8 p.m. ET, "Deal or No Deal" (5.0 rating, 12 share in adults 18-49, 17.4 million viewers overall) was #1 in the time period in 18-49, total viewers and other key measures. "Deal" posted a 22 percent margin of victory over its nearest competitor in 18-49 (5.0 vs. a 4.1 for Fox's "Prison Break"). In total viewers, "Deal" prevailed by more than 7.0 million viewers (17.4 million vs. 10.1 million for "Prison Break"). "Deal" was up by 72 percent in 18-49 versus NBC's results in this hour on the same night last year.

Monday at 9 p.m. ET, "Heroes" (6.4/14 in 18-49, 14.6 million viewers overall) was a decisive #1 in the time period in adults 18-49, with a 16 percent winning margin over CBS comedies (6.4 vs. 5.5 for the hour) and a 28 percent advantage over Fox's "24" (6.4 vs. 5.0). This 1.4 rating point advantage over "24" is the widest margin so far in the three weeks the rival dramas have competed head-to-head in this hour. Among adults 18-34, the "Heroes" advantage over "24" widens to 59 percent (6.7 for "Heroes" vs. a 4.2 for "24"). "Heroes" also topped "24" in overall viewership by over 1.0 million viewers (14.6 million vs. 13.6 million). Versus NBC's performance in this hour on the same night last year, "Heroes" was up 60 percent in 18-49 (6.4 vs. 4.0).

"Heroes" was the #1 telecast on Monday night in primetime's key demographic of adults 18-49, on an evening that included competition from original telecasts of "CSI" Miami," "Prison Break," "24," "Two and a Half Men," and the heavily-promoted premiere of CBS' "Rules of Engagement."

At 10 p.m. ET, "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" (3.1/8 in 18-49, 7.0 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, total viewers and all other key measures.

On Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 8 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (2.1/5 in 18-49, 5.8 million viewers overall) was up 31 percent in 18-49 versus NBC's result in this time period on the same night last year. At 9 p.m., "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" (2.7/5 in 18-49, 6.5 million viewers overall) built by 29 percent on its 18-49 lead-in.

Tuesday from 10-11 p.m. ET, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (4.8/11 in 18-49, 13.5 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures. "SVU" generated a 45 percent winning margin in adults 18-49 over its nearest competitor, a special original telecast of CBS' "The Unit" (4.8 vs. 3.3). Among women 18-34, "SVU" beat "The Unit" and ABC's "Boston Legal" combined.

On Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 8 p.m. ET, "Friday Night Lights" (2.4/6 in 18-49, 6.4 million viewers overall) matched its highest 18-49 rating since a special Monday 10 p.m. telecast on October 30. In total viewers, this was the second most-watched regular-slot episode of "Lights," second only to last week's 6.7 million, since its series premiere on October 3.

Wednesday from 9-10 p.m. ET, "Deal or No Deal" averaged a 2.5/7 in 18-49 and 9.6 million viewers overall. Despite head-to-head competition with "American Idol," "Deal grew by 27 percent in 18-49 rating and 21 percent in total viewers from its first half-hour to its second. At 10 p.m., "Medium" averaged a 2.9/5 in 18-49, 8.1 million viewers overall.

On Thursday, Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. ET, "My Name is Earl" (4.2/11 in 18-49, 9.5 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49 (tied) and #1 in adults 18-34. Despite competition from the premiere of "Survivor: Fiji," "Earl" was up 8 percent in 18-49 versus its average this season for original episodes versus "Survivor" competition (4.2 vs. 3.9). In the first week of Nielsen's inclusion of on-campus college viewers in its national sample, "Earl" was up 38 percent in the demographic of adults 18-24 versus its fall average for original episodes facing "Survivor."

Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET, "The Office" (4.4/11 in 18-49, 8.8 million viewers overall) was up 52 percent in 18-49 versus NBC's results in this time period on the same night last year (4.4 vs. 2.9) and up 7 percent versus its average this season for original episodes facing "Survivor" (4.4 vs. 4.1). In the first week of Nielsen's inclusion of on-campus college viewers in its national sample, "The Office" increased by 30 percent among adults 18-24 versus its fall average for original episodes competing with "Survivor." From 9-9:31 p.m. ET, "Scrubs" delivered a 3.1/78 in 18-49 and 6.3 million viewers overall. From 9:31-10:01 p.m., "30 Rock" averaged a 2.5/6 in 18-49 and 5.2 million viewers overall.

Thursday from 10:01-11 p.m. ET, "ER" (5.0/13 in 18-49, 11.8 million viewers overall) won its time period in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and adults 25-54, topping rival dramas that benefited from sizable lead-in advantages. In adults 18-49, "ER" built on its lead-in from the previous half-hour by 100 percent, while the competing programs in the hour both declined substantially � ABC's "Men in Trees" fell 64 percent in 18-49 versus its lead-in from "Grey's Anatomy" (10.9 to 3.9) and "Shark" dropped 41 percent in 18-49 versus its "CSI" lead-in (6.9 to 4.1). In total viewers, "ER" surged by more than 6.3 million viewers versus its lead-in, while "Shark" dropped by nearly 8.0 million viewers and "Men in Trees" plummeted by 14.7 million versus their respective lead-ins.

On Friday, Feb. 9 from 8-9 p.m. ET, "1 vs 100" (2.6/8 in 18-49, 9.5 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49 and total viewers. "1 vs 100" grew by 17 percent in 18-49 from its first half-hour to its second.

At 9 p.m. ET, "Las Vegas" (2.9/9 in 18-49, 9.2 million viewers overall) was #1 in adults 18-49 and other key measures, rolling its highest 18-49 rating since January 5. At 10 p.m., "Law & Order" delivered a 2.6/8 in 18-49 and 9.6 million viewers overall.

On Saturday, Feb. 10, from 8-9 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (1.8/6 in 18-49, 6.9 million viewers overall) reported its highest 18-49 rating in the Saturday 8-9 p.m. hour since October 21 and its highest overall viewer total in this time period this season. At 9 p.m., an encore telecast of "Law & Order: SVU" (1.9/6 in 18-49, 6.7 million viewers overall) captured NBC's highest non-sports overall viewer total and 18-49 rating in this time period since December 2. "SVU" won the slot among women 25-54. At 10 p.m., an encore "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" (2.0/6 in 18-49, 7.4 million viewers overall) locked up NBC's highest non-sports 18-49 rating in the hour since November 25. "Criminal Intent" ranked #2 in adults 18-49 and was #1 in the hour among total viewers.

On Sunday, Feb. 11, from 7-9 p.m. ET, "Grease: You're the One That I Want" averaged a 2.0/5 in 18-49 and 6.5 million viewers overall in a highly competitive time period that included competition from the "Grammy Awards," two-hours of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" and one hour of "The Simpsons." From 9-10 p.m., "The Apprentice" (2.4/5 in 18-49, 6.4 million viewers overall) built by 20 percent in 18-49 rating versus its lead-in. At 10 p.m., "Crossing Jordan" (2.5/6 in 18-49, 8.1 million viewers overall) delivered its highest overall total viewership so far this season, despite competition from the "Grammy Awards" on CBS.
