SEASON THREE PREMIERE OF A&E'S CRISS ANGEL MINDFREAK' DELIVERS RECORD-BREAKING AUDIENCE AND MIND-BLOWING DEMONSTRATIONS
2.7 MILLION VIEWERS TUNED-IN TO THE MOST-WATCHED EPISODE IN SERIES HISTORY
New York, NY June 6, 2007 2.7 million total viewers tuned in to Tuesday night's special one-hour third season premiere of the A&E hit series, "Criss Angel Mindfreak." The episode also averaged a 1.9 household rating, 1.5 million adults 18-49 and 1.3 million adults 25-54. Among all ad-supported cable networks, "Criss Angel Mindfreak" was the number one show in adults 18-49 in the 10-11pm time period.
Versus the season two premiere, the third season premiere garnered gains of 12% in household rating, 17 percent in total viewers, 7% in adults 18-49 and 18% among adults 25-54. The delivery was the best nightly average in series history among adults 25-54, adults 18-49, household rating and total viewers.
The entire event was streamed live on aetv.com and taped for a future episode.
More than 41,000 unique visitors logged on to watch the 24 hour live webcast of Criss' Cement Block demonstration in Times Square on June 4th and 5th. Criss Angel was placed in a 4'x4'x4' glass box with steel bars that was hoisted 40 feet into the air and slowly filled with cement by spectators in full view at all times. This resulted in one of the highest trafficked days of all time on aetv.com.
In the mind-blowing season opener Criss astonished viewers by taking levitation to an unprecedented level - attempting to float more than 500 feet above ground over one of only two man-made objects that can be seen from space the 800 degree light beam that sits atop Las Vegas' Luxor Hotel and Casino.
A&E's fastest-growing series in 2006, CRISS ANGEL MINDFREAK garnered critical acclaim and delivered some of the youngest demos in the Network's history. Season 3 will continue to captivate audiences with mind-boggling demonstrations including spectacular escapes, mystifying mentalism, hypnotism, vanishes, animal magic, endurance feats, separations, penetrations, cards, coins, as well as celebrity and on-the-street encounters.
