BURBANK, Calif. � August 28, 2007 � NBC has won the primetime week of August 20-26 in the key demographic of adults 18-49, led by the #1, #2 and #3 shows of the week in 18-49, "America's Got Talent," a pre-season telecast of "NBC Sunday Night Football" and "The Singing Bee." For the week of August 20-26, NBC averaged a 2.1 rating, 6 share in adults 18-49 and 6.0 million viewers overall, according to "live plus same day" in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

NBC also won the week among adults, men and women 18-34, men and women 18-49 and men 25-54. NBC's weeklong victory in adults 18-49 snaps a 28-week winning streak for Fox that started the week of February 5-11, the week after the Super Bowl.

Tuesday's season finale of "America's Got Talent" jumped 20 percent above the show's year-ago finale in 18-49 and set a new series record in total viewers. The August 26 edition of "NBC Sunday Night Football" scored the highest rating for any pre-season NFL telecast on any network in more than a year, despite a regionally focused match-up of the intra-state rivals the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers. And Wednesday's "Last Comic Standing" scored summer-high ratings and gave NBC a six-month time-period high in 18-49.

The season finale of "America's Got Talent" was the #1 program of the week in adults 18-49, total viewers and all other key measures except for the adult-male categories, which were all led by "NBC Sunday Night Football." "Talent," "Football" and "The Singing Bee" ranked #1, #2 and #3 respectively in adults 18-49, and "Last Comic Standing" joined that trio among the week's top programs, tying for the #5 ranking.

Primetime averages for the week of August 20-26 in adults 18-49 were NBC (2.1/6), CBS (2.0/6), Fox (1.7/5), ABC (1.6/5), Univision (1.3/4), CW (0.7/2) and Telemundo (0.4/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (6.9 million), NBC (6.0 million), Fox (4.7 million), ABC (4.5 million), Univision (3.0 million), CW (2.0 million) and Telemundo (0.9 million).

In regular program averages through 49 weeks of the 2006-07 broadcast year, NBC is running within a tenth of a point of last year's average in adult 18-49 rating (2.9 vs. 3.0). While Fox is also down a tenth of a point versus last year in regular-program averages (3.7 vs. 3.8), ABC (3.0 vs. 3.3) and CBS (3.1 vs. 3.4) are both down 9 percent.

NBC highlights for the week of August 20-26:

* On Tuesday, the season finale of "America's Got Talent" dominated all competition, scoring a 68 percent margin of victory in adults 18-49 and more than doubling its closest competitor in total viewers. . "Talent" was the #1 show on television Tuesday night by all key measures.

* Tuesday's "America's Got Talent" finale surged by 20 percent in 18-49 rating and by 16 percent in total viewers versus last year's finale on August 17, 2006.

* The "Talent" finale set a new series record in total viewers. It delivered NBC's highest total viewership in this time period since November 2005, excluding Olympics telecasts, and attracted the biggest overall viewership for any broadcast network telecast since the May 29 season finale of "House."

* Also on Tuesday, a special one-hour episode of "The Singing Bee" won its hour by all key measures, including adults 18-49 and total viewers. "Bee" topped the ABC-CBS competition combined among adults 18-34.

* NBC won Tuesday night in adults 18-49, total viewers and all other key measures, marking the 12th consecutive Tuesday that NBC has finished #1 or tied for #1 in 18-49.

* On Wednesday, "Last Comic Standing" delivered its highest 18-49 rating and biggest total viewership of the summer to date, up 20 percent in 18-49 and 27 percent in total viewers versus the prior week. "Last Comic" was #1 in its time period in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and other key demographic measures.

* NBC won Wednesday night in adults 18-49, paced by "Last Comic" and with a strong performance from an encore episode of "Most Outrageous Moments," which matched NBC's highest 18-49 rating in its slot since May 2, despite first-run competition on CBS and Fox.

* On Thursday, NBC's "30 Rock" delivered its highest 18-49 rating so far this summer and "My Name is Earl" and "The Office" hit eight-week highs.

* On Friday, "Miss Teen USA" matched NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the time period in three months.

* On Sunday, NBC Sports coverage of the Philadelphia Eagles-Pittsburgh Steelers pre-season NFL game hit seven-month time-period highs for the network and scored the highest 18-49 and total viewer results for any NFL pre-season telecast on any network in more than a year, a span covering 17 broadcasts.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of August 20-26:

On Monday, Aug. 20 from 8-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Thank God You're Here" averaged a 1.4 rating, 4 share in adults 18-49 and 3.5 million viewers overall. At 9 p.m., a rebroadcast of "Heroes" delivered a 1.2/3 in 18-49 and 2.8 million viewers overall. At 10 p.m., "Dateline NBC" (1.6/5 in 18-49, 4.7 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 25-54 and total viewers.

On Tuesday, Aug. 21 from 8-10:02 p.m. ET, the second-season finale of "America's Got Talent" (4.2/12 in 18-49, 13.9 million viewers overall) was up 20 percent in adults 18-49 and 16 percent in total viewers versus last year's finale (a 3.5/10 in 18-49 and 12.0 million viewers overall on August 17, 2006). This marked NBC's highest total viewership in this time period, excluding Olympics, since November 29, 2005 and the biggest overall viewership for any broadcast network telecast since May 29 (the season finale of "House").

"America's Got Talent" set a new series record in total viewers, topping the previous "live plus same day" record of 13.0 million for the second-season debut on June 6, 2007.

"America's Got Talent" dominated its time period in all key ratings categories, posting a 68 percent margin of victory over its nearest competitor in adults 18-49 (4.2 vs. a 2.5 for CBS). In total viewers, "Talent" doubled the closest competition, with a margin of victory of more than 7.2 million persons (13.9 million vs. CBS' 6.7 million).

"Talent" exhibited strong growth over its two-hour telecast, increasing by 34 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 4.7/12 from a 3.5/11) and by 32 percent in total viewers (to 15.5 million from 11.8 million) from its first to its fourth half-hour.

Tuesday from 10:02-11 p.m. ET, "The Singing Bee" (3.2/9 in 18-49, 8.9 million viewers overall) won its time period by all key ratings measures, topping the ABC-CBS competition combined among adults 18-34.

NBC won Tuesday night in 18-49, total viewers and all other key measures. NBC has ranked #1 or tied for #1 for 12 consecutive Tuesday nights in 18-49. In total viewers, NBC's 12.3 million average Tuesday night is the top result this summer for any broadcast network on any night of the week.

On Wednesday, Aug. 22 from 8-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Most Outrageous moments (2.1/7 in 18-49, 6.5 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49, tied for #1 among adults and men 18-34 and was #1 outright among men 18-49 and 25-54, versus first-run competition on CBS and Fox. "Most Outrageous Moments" matched NBC's highest 18-49 rating in this slot since May 2 and delivered the network's biggest overall audience in the hour since June 13.

Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET, "Last Comic Standing" (3.0/9 in 18-49, 7.3 million viewers overall) scored its strongest ratings of the summer, winning its time period in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and other key demographic measures. In adults 18-49, "Last Comic" won the time period by 36 percent over its closest competitor (3.0 vs. 2.2 for CBS' "Criminal Minds" encore). "Last Comic" also delivered its highest total viewership of the summer.

"Last Comic" delivered NBC's highest 18-49 rating in this time period in nearly seven months (since January 31). Versus the prior week, "Last Comic" was up 20 percent in 18-49 rating (3.0/9 vs. 2.5/7) and by 27 percent in total viewers (7.3 million vs. 5.7 million).

Wednesday from 10-11 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (2.0/6 in 18-49, 6.2 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49, total viewers and most other key measures.

At 8 p.m. ET Thursday, Aug. 23, an encore telecast of "My Name is Earl" (1.9/7 in 18-49, 5.1 million viewers overall) delivered the show's highest 18-49 rating and overall viewership in eight weeks (since June 28). "Earl" ranked #2 in the time period in 18-49.

Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "30 Rock" (1.7/5 in 18-49, 3.9 million viewers overall) retained 89 percent of its 18-49 lead-in from "My Name is Earl." "30 Rock" scored its highest 18-49 rating of the summer to date.

From 9-9:31 p.m. ET Thursday, a rebroadcast of "The Office" (2.2/7 in 18-49, 4.8 million viewers overall) delivered the show's highest 18-49 rating in eight weeks (since June 28) and set a new summer high in total viewers. The August 23 telecast of "The Office" built on its 18-49 lead-in by 29 percent. "The Office" ranked #1 for the time period in adults 18-34. From 9:31-10:01 p.m., an encore telecast of "Scrubs" averaged a 1.6/5 in 18-49 and 3.5 million viewers overall, and from 10:01-11 p.m., an encore telecast of "ER" averaged a 1.2/4 in 18-49 and 3.0 million viewers overall.

On Friday, Aug. 24 from 8-10 p.m. ET, "Miss Teen USA 2007" (1.4/5 in 18-49, 4.3 million viewers overall) ranked as the time period's #1 non-sports telecast in 18-49 and total viewers and the #1 telecast overall in all key adult-female demos. "Miss Teen 2007" matched NBC's highest 18-49 rating in this time period in three months (since May 25). In total viewers, it was NBC's top performance in the slot since July 20.

At 10 p.m. Friday, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1.5/5 in 18-49, 5.2 million viewers overall) captured NBC's strongest 18-49 rating in this time period in five weeks (since July 20).

On Saturday, Aug. 25 from 8-10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of last Tuesday's "America's Got Talent" finale averaged a 0.7/3 in 18-49 and 2.5 million viewers overall. At 10 p.m., an encore telecast of "Medium" averaged a 0.7/2 in 18-49 and 2.2 million viewers overall. Note that with numerous preemptions for local coverage of NFL pre-season football, "Talent" and "Medium" were cleared in 84 percent and 83 percent of the U.S. respectively.

On Sunday, Aug. 26 from 7-8 p.m. ET, a special telecast of the MSNBC series "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" averaged a 0.8/3 in 18-49 and 3.0 million viewers overall.

Sunday from 8:08-11 p.m. ET, NBC Sports coverage of the Philadelphia Eagles-Pittsburgh Steelers NFL pre-season game averaged a 3.4/9 in 18-49, 9.2 million viewers overall and a 6.0/10 in households. The pre-kickoff telecast from 8-8:08 p.m. averaged a 2.4/8 in 18-49, 6.8 million viewers overall and a 4.4/8 in households.

Despite featuring a regionally focused match-up of the intra-state rivals the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers, this week's "NBC Sunday Night Football" telecast is the top-scoring pre-season game on the broadcast networks in more than a year, since NBC's coverage of last year's Hall of Fame game on August 6, 2006 (3.9/11 in 18-49, 10.6 million viewers overall). That's a span covering 17 NFL pre-season broadcasts. The August 26 game also scored NBC's highest 18-49 and total-viewer results in the time period in seven months (since January 7). The Eagles-Steelers coverage ranked #1 for its time period in 18-49, total viewers and numerous other key ratings categories.

NBC finished #1 for Sunday night in 18-49 and other key demographics.
