"Big Brother 8" Posts Increase in Adults 18-49 Versus "Big Brother 7"

The season finale of BIG BROTHER 8 posted the its highest adult 18-34 rating on any night this summer, matched highs in both adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 and delivered the Tuesday edition's largest audience, according to preliminary Nielsen Live Plus same-day ratings for Tuesday, Sept. 18.

BIG BROTHER 8 TUESDAY was second in households (5.5/09, -0.2 behind NBC), viewers (8.51m), adults 25-54 (3.7/09), adults 18-49 (3.3/08) and adults 18-34 (2.7/08).

This is BIG BROTHER 8's best delivery on any night in adults 18-34, matches the best delivery on any night in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49, posts the second best households and viewers delivery (behind 9/13/07's broadcast) and is the best Tuesday delivery in both households and viewers.

Compared to the season finale last year (on 9/12/06), BIG BROTHER 8 TUESDAY was up +6% in both households (from 5.2/08) and adults 18-49 (from 3.1/09), +3% in adults 25-54 (from 3.6/09) and added +100,000 viewers (from 8.41m, +1%).

Compared to last summer's "Big Brother 7," this year's edition was up +4% in adults 18-49 (2.9/09 from 2.8/09) and on par in adults 25-54 (3.3/09) and viewers (7.51m vs. 7.56m).

Final Tuesday ratings will be available this afternoon.
