Queen Bees and The N's Student Body Earn 'Buzz'-Worthy Ratings for Teen-Targeted The N
The N's Back-to-Back Premieres Rank as Broadcast, Basic Cable TV's Top
Destination For Teen Girls in Time Period
NEW YORK, July 15 -- A double dose of teen reality TV
delivered great teen and total viewer gains for The N on Friday, July 11,
with the back-to-back premieres of Queen Bees (9 p.m. ET/PT) and The N's
Student Body (10 p.m. ET/PT). Driven by the new shows, The N was the
number-one network for teen girls (12-17) in the 9-11 p.m. (ET/PT) time
period on all broadcast and basic cable.
Queen Bees earned a 1.5/227,000 T12-17, up +88% in rating from last
year. Among P2+, the premiere delivered 362,000 total viewers, up +95%. The
N's Student Body earned a 1.3/200,000 T12-17, gaining +5% in delivery and
drawing 332,000 total viewers, up +17% over last year.
Queen Bees, which will regularly air Friday nights 8:30-9:30 (ET), is
the ultimate mean girl makeover show. Seven self-centered, narcissistic
'mean girls' were nominated by family members, boyfriends and friends in
the hopes that they will better themselves from the inside out. While the
girls think they are competing to be the biggest diva in the house, they
quickly learn that they are there because people want them to change. The
girl that changes the most will win $25,000.
The N's Student Body, hosted by Laila Ali, brings together 12 students
from rival high schools in Decatur, Illinois, for a life-changing mission
to get in shape. The winning school and the winning student that makes a
change for the better, both physically and mentally, will take home $25,000
that will be used for new school facilities and programs. The series is
executive produced by The N along with Reveille's Mark Koops, Dave Broome
of 25/7 Productions and Ben Silverman, the founder of Reveille and now
Co-Chairman of NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios. The N's
Student Body will regularly air Sunday 8-9 p.m. (ET).
The N, part of the Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group, is the
24-hour TV network exclusively for and about teens, is currently available
in 64 million households via cable, digital cable and satellite, as well on
