'Ghost Hunters' is #1 Cable Program

New York, NY � October 23, 2008 � SCI FI's Ghost Hunters got viewers into the Halloween spirit on Wednesday night as the popular series smashed ratings records. The episode, airing from 9-10pm, delivered an unprecedented 2.3 Household rating, 3.2 million total viewers, 1.9 million Adults 18-49 and 2 million Adults 25-54, making SCI FI the #1 rated cable network in prime in all key demos (Adults 18-34, Men and Women 18-49 and 25-54) and Ghost Hunters the #1 cable program for the day in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49 -- beating a new South Park in Adults 18-49. In addition:

-This episode of Ghost Hunters reflected the series' popularity among women, achieving a rank as the #1 series telecast in SCI FI history for Females 18-49 (1.1 million) and Females 25-54 (1.1 million).

-Last night's episode was the best performance in total viewers for a SCI FI original series since the 7/18/06 Eureka premiere.

-This was the best Adults 25-54 performance for a SCI FI original series in 3 years - since the 7/15/05 Battlestar Galactica season 2 premiere.

-This was the #3 highest Adults 18-49 delivery ever for any SCI FI original series

-Ghost Hunters blew away its previous series highs, by +11% in Adults 18-49 and +12% in Adults 25-54.

Next week, fans can look forward to a double-dose of Ghost Hunters. First, on Wednesday, October 29 @ 9 PM, the team investigates the USS Hornet in San Francisco with three special guests: west coast TAPS members Amy Bruni and Britt Griffith, along with Colin Ferguson, star of SCI FI's hit series Eureka.

Then, on Halloween night, the team heads back to the historic Fort Delaware for the 3rd annual Ghost Hunters Live event, LIVE from 7pm-2am on Friday, October 31. Hosted by Josh Gates (Destination Truth) and co-hosted by Steve Valentine (SCI FI's Estate of Panic), the special will feature TAPS members from both Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International as well as special guest investigators Amanda Tapping (Sanctuary) and ECW Superstar The Miz.

Once again, SCIFI.COM will also serve as the online destination on Halloween night, offering a multilayered digital experience for fans including an exclusive, multi-camera online video feed and thermal imaging camera views, exclusive access to photos from the live event, live Q&A with the TAPS team members and the return of the "Panic Button" for web watchers to alert the team of something they are seeing live on TV.
