OXYGEN'S "BAD GIRLS CLUB" SMASHES ALL NETWORK RECORDS
Season Three Shows Triple Digit Growth in Key Demos Versus Season Two
Oxygen.com Sees Increase of 236%
NEW YORK, NY, December 3, 2008 - Last night's season three premiere of "Bad Girls Club" made network history, becoming Oxygen's highest rated and most watched season premiere ever, based on Nielsen Media Research data. Posting a record-breaking 0.8 household rating, the airing was the most successful season premiere among all key demos including P18-49 (568,000), W18-49 (405,000), W18-34 (337,000) and total viewers (807,000). This was also the youngest median age for the season premiere of an Oxygen series (26.6). This season premiere bested all Oxygen's season premieres including "Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood" as well as season two of "Bad Girls Club."
Compared to the show's season two premiere, last night's premiere was ahead by 130% among P18-49, 130% among W18-49, 136% among W18-34 and 116% among total viewers. Compared to the premiere of "Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood," last night's premiere of "Bad Girls Club" season three was up 26% among P18-49, 14% among W18-49, 35% among W18-34 and 21% among total viewers.
The website delivered huge increases leading up to the premiere as well, with www.oxygen.com notching over a million page views on Tuesday. For the week leading up to last night's premiere, the site logged 1.8 million page views and 98,000 video streams, an increase of 236% and 180% compared to the week prior. Last night's season premiere was the most interactive of any premiere, with record-breaking participation during the live mobile poll. Viewers revealed that 83% would tune-in for the major catfights while only 17% would tune-in for the hot hook-ups.
