CBS Wins Wednesday in Viewers and Adults 25-54

CBS's CRIMINAL MINDS won the 9:00-10:00 PM time period in viewers and key demographics for the second straight week, the 8:00-9:00 PM comedy block posted week-to-week increases with its best deliveries in adults 18-49 since December, while CSI: NY also notched across-the-board gains, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Wednesday, Oct. 14.

THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE was first in households (4.9/08), viewers (7.48m), adults 25-54 (2.9/08) and second in adults 18-49 (2.2/07). Compared to last week, OLD CHRISTINE was up +9% in households (from 4.5/08), +12% in adults 25-54 (from 2.6/07), +16% in adults 18-49 (from 1.9/06) and added +620,000 viewers (from 6.86m, +9%). This is THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE's best households delivery since Dec. 17, 2008, best viewers and adults 18-49 performances since Dec. 10, 2008 and best adults 25-54 performance since March 18, 2009.

GARY UNMARRIED was first in adults 25-54 (3.1/08), second in households (4.7/07), viewers (7.39m) and adults 18-49 (2.4/07). Compared to last week, GARY UNMARRIED was up +9% in both households (from 4.3/07) and adults 18-49 (from 2.2/06), +11% in adults 25-54 (from 2.8/07) and added +550,000 viewers (from 6.84m, +8%). This is GARY UNMARRIED's best households and viewers deliveries since March 11, 2009, best adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 performances since Dec. 10, 2008.

CRIMINAL MINDS was first in households (8.3/13), viewers (13.41m), adults 25-54 (4.7/11) and adults 18-49 (3.6/09). CRIMINAL MINDS was the night's #1 program in viewers and adults 25-54, tied as #1 in adults 18-49 (with "Modern Family').

CSI: NY was first in households (8.5/15), viewers (12.95m), adults 25-54 (4.1/11) and adults 18-49 (3.2/09). CSI: NY was up +4% in households (from 8.2/14), +5% in adults 25-54 (from 3.9/10), +10% in adults 18-49 (from 2.9/08) and added +520,000 viewers (from 12.43m +4%) compared to last week.

For the night, CBS was first in households (7.2/12), viewers (11.26m), adults 25-54 (3.9/10) and second in adults 18-49 (3.0/08, -0.1 behind FOX).

Updated Wednesday ratings will be available this afternoon.

CBS's CRIMINAL MINDS won the 9:00-10:00 PM time period in viewers and key demographics for the fourth straight week, the 8:00-9:00 PM comedy block posted week-to-week increases with its best deliveries in adults 18-49 since December, while CSI: NY also notched across-the-board gains, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Wednesday, Oct. 14.

THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE (4.6/08, 6.99m) was tied for first in adults 25-54 (2.8/08, with FOX), second in both households and adults 18-49 (2.1/07). Compared to last week, OLD CHRISTINE was up +2% in households (from 4.5/08), +8% in adults 25-54 (from 2.6/07), +11% in adults 18-49 (from 1.9/06) and added +130,000 viewers (from 6.86m, +2%). These are THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE's best delivery since its season premiere (Sept. 23, 2009).

GARY UNMARRIED (4.4/07, 6.91m) was first in adults 25-54 (3.0/08), second in adults 18-49 (2.3/07), tied for second in households (with FOX). Compared to last week, GARY UNMARRIED was up +2% in households (from 4.3/07), +7% in adults 25-54 (from 2.8/07), +5% in adults 18-49 (from 2.2/06) and added 70,000 viewers (from 6.84m, +1%). This is GARY UNMARRIED's best households delivery since May 6, 2009, best adults 25-54 since March 18, 2009, best adults 18-49 since Sept. 23, 2009 and best viewers total since Apr. 8, 2009.

CRIMINAL MINDS was first at 9:00PM in households (8.5/13), viewers (13.92m), adults 25-54 (4.8/12) and adults 18-49 (3.8/10) for the fourth consecutive week. Compared to last week, CRIMINAL MINDS was up +6% in adults 18-49 (from 3.6/09). CRIMINAL MINDS was the night's #1 program in viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 for the fourth straight week.

CSI: NY was first in households (8.8/15), viewers (13.40m), adults 25-54 (4.2/11) and adults 18-49 (3.2/09) for the fourth consecutive week. CSI: NY was up +7% in households (from 8.2/14), +8% in adults 25-54 (from 3.9/10), +10% in adults 18-49 (from 2.9/08) and added +970,000 viewers (from 12.43m +8%) compared to last week.

For the night, CBS was first in households (7.3/12), viewers (11.42m), adults 25-54 (4.0/10) and tied for first in adults 18-49 (3.1/09, with FOX). CBS placed first in these measures every Wednesday this season.
