SYFY'S NETWORK PREMIERE OF CATEGORY 6: DAY OF DESTRUCTION SHAKES UP MORE THAN TWO MILLION VIEWERS DURING SATURDAY, JANUARY 9 DEBUT
New York, NY � January 12, 2010 � Syfy's network premiere of the two-part Category 6: Day of Destruction, which starred Thomas Gibson, Nancy McKeon, Chandra West, Randy Quaid, Dianne Wiest and Brian Dennehy, blasted its way to more than two million viewers and double-digit increases in Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 during its premiere on Saturday, January 9, from 7-11PM (ET/PT).
From 7-9PM (ET/PT), Part One of the movie -- about a hurricane heading north from the Gulf of Mexico smashing into a tornado over Chicago -- shook up 598,000 Adults 18-49, 840,000 Adults 25-54 and 1,868,000 total viewers. This marked increases of +31% in Adults 18-49, +55% in Adults 25-54 and +66% in total viewers versus last Saturday's 7PM movie.
From 9-11PM (ET/PT), Part Two of the movie placed fifth in Adults 25-54 among primetime cable telecasts, drawing 726,000 Adults 18-49, 1,088,000 Adults 25-54 and 2,322,000 total viewers. Compared to last week's 9PM movie, this was up +56% in Adults 18-49, +72% in Adults 25-54 and +75% in total viewers.
