Amish Grace also produced impressive traffic on myLifetime.com, where it generated the second highest
day of premiere page views of any original movie for both Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network for
2009 and 2010 (behind Natalee Holloway). The movie's page views yesterday were 300% higher than
the 2009-10 Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network Original Movie day of premiere average.
The film, starring Kimberly Williams-Paisley (According to Jim, Father of the Bride Parts I and II), is based on a true story about the aftermath that followed the 2006 schoolhouse shooting in the Amish community of Nickel Mines, Pennsylvania. Amish Grace examines a mother's (Williams-Paisley) personal journey in which she copes with the tragic loss of her daughter during the shooting and
subsequent questioning of her faith. Matt Letscher (Brothers & Sisters, Entourage) portrays her husband, Gideon Graber, and Tammy Blanchard (Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows) stars as the shooter's wife, Amy Roberts. Amish Grace is based on the book Amish Grace: How Forgiveness Transcended Tragedy.
ABOUT AMISH GRACE
The peaceful Amish community of Nickel Mines was forever changed when a gunman senselessly took the lives of five girls in a schoolhouse shooting before taking his own life. What transpires afterwards takes the community by storm when the media descends on the town and criticizes its Amish leaders for their notion of unconditional forgiveness of the shooter and their outreach of support to his widow, Amy Roberts (Blanchard). Devastated by her daughter's death, Ida Graber (Williams-Paisley) finds herself struggling with her community's belief of the transcending power of forgiveness. Deeply conflicted and unable to forgive the gunman and his family, Ida is tempted to leave the only life she's ever known before re-embracing her faith.
